"Why do you need silicone under the OSB board?" - Fixed one problem
Why do they lay OSB slabs on a wooden floor at all? The answer to this question arose by itself when I saw how a neighbor laid linoleum on the floorboards. The floor is strong, why not, but over time, the linoleum spread out and took the form of floorboards, which were far from perfect evenness.
And when the sun got into the room, the drops were especially noticeable, therefore, before laying the final coating, I laid OSB sheets. Many years have passed and linoleum looks greatas if the floors underneath were covered with screed.
OSB problem
Since there is a positive experience, I began to do this to other people who wanted to get by with minimal costs, and this is a budgetary and fast way. Only now there was one problem, there. Where the floorboards are significantly curved, the sheet bends, and there may be more than one such location.
Found the simplest solution! You drill a few holes over the void and fill the groove with silicone sealant.
When it dries, it forms a kind of rubber cushion, and the buckling actually disappears, or becomes barely perceptible. This is the way that can help someone out, it is clear that this is not a panacea, but a working method.
One more little thing
I also use gap filling sealantwhere a loose adhesion of the slabs is obtained, the linoleum will not be sold there. You can also smooth out the steps for them, but this is when there is no way to grind them off, for example, with a flap disc for a grinder.
