Friends, let's move away from the topic of rising prices for building materials and talk about what is vital to do in the summer for all those who live in a country house and who have cold floors in winter.
Inhabitants of wooden houses are especially worried about cold floors. So read this article to the end, I will tell you how to add comfort to your home.
Let's be frank: few of us have buried our foundation below the depth of soil freezing. For most regions, this is more than 160 centimeters. Just imagine how much concrete would be spent on such a tape!
Therefore, we correct what we have. I'll tell you how.
As experienced builders have already guessed, if the house is on a shallow strip foundation, the insulated blind area is what the doctor ordered!
Insulation requires sheets of 50 mm foam. If there is free money - 100 mm.
The algorithm of actions is as follows:
- open the blind area;
- dig out the foundation from the outside to its entire depth;
- apply waterproofing, if it has not been done before !!!
- on glue-foam (Penosil or Titan), glue the sheets of penoplex to the foundation;
- backfill and fill in the insulated blind area: sand, the same penoplex, reinforcing mesh on spacers, concrete.
If the budget allows, to the side of the blind area to the same depth, throw a drainage pipe in geotextile and rubble and bring it into a well or a natural slope outside the site.
Thus, we:
a) insulated the foundation from lateral freezing;
b) a blind area with insulation will move the freezing line further from the house;
c) the drainage system will dry the ground around the concrete - we will eliminate the capillary suction of moisture from the ground;
It is important to do this at least in parts - one side a year! The method is really working - it's warmer at home, you can walk barefoot on the floors, and heating bills get a little lower.
