Zucchini are already sitting in the vegetable gardens in their places. And, of course, we will not transplant them anywhere. But it is important to say about the wrong landing site, because this is a very common mistake. Often it is from it that the legs of poor harvests from citizens grow.

I am not in awe at the sight of a huge squash bush. It always seemed to me that it would be better to give "a place in the sun" to more noble and vital crops, like potatoes or carrots. And shove the zucchini somewhere behind the wall of the barn, or plant it by the fence.

But zucchini is an extremely light-loving culture.. Once upon a time, she came to us from South America. Therefore, landing in the shade of a fence or a bath in my village of Perkhushkovo near Moscow is a branded mockery of pure water.

Lack of care in the form of regular watering and feeding

You will go out to the garden in the morning,

He is so big and strong - he can live without watering!

I wrote this rhyme. Before I noticed that my harvest is poor.

Although I don't really want to eject from the hammock and take up the hose again, I must admit: the zucchini is essentially the same cucumber, only large, and its root system also cannot boast of depth and the ability to take water from the bowels vegetable garden. AND its yield (both in quality, quantity, and in kilograms) directly depends on irrigation. For one adult zucchini, you need at least 10 liters of water, when the earth has already dried out by 3-4 cm.

Even an inexperienced gardener understands that crops will not come out of nothing. If the bush lacks nutrition, it will not produce numerous and tasty zucchini. Even if he really wants to.

I always advise you to take care of soil fertility in advance. I myself vote for the spring introduction of humus during digging. If we talk about the feeding schedule, then it looks like this:

• The first feeding is for growing greenery. Urea or mullein.
• The second top dressing in the flowering phase: boron, which increases the number of ovaries.
• The third feeding - during the growth of the ovaries - is a solution of any potassium fertilizer for gaining the mass of the fruits. An alternative for those who shy away from chemistry is old, kind, sweet heart wood ash in the form of infusion.

As you can see, comrade, the reluctance to use chemical fertilizers does not absolve from responsibility: as you feed the zucchini, you will harvest such a crop!

How rash not to monitor the acid-base balance of the soil! Zucchini hates sour soil. Outraged, they literally cry for help, giving small and tasteless fruits.

Litmus strips are quite inexpensive - around 100 rubles. And even a sixth grader can figure out how to use them after reading the instructions.

If an acidic environment is found on a squash bed, deoxidizers are at your service. For example, dolomite flour or, again, wood ash that we already love. The latter, moreover, will also become an additional fertilizer in the garden.

Leaving the bush to its own devices (that is, without forming)

The zucchini has huge burdock leaves. And it can do a disservice:

• The lower ones lying on the ground, due to moisture, begin to rot. This is a breeding ground for fungi and bacteria, which always do not mind spreading to the rest of the bush and even encroaching on the holy of holies (the fruit itself is a vegetable marrow). Feel free to remove the lower leaves!
• Fan leaves can shade ovaries. Why the latter begin to lose in taste and size. It is in nature that they do not play a special role. And we, for a minute, are hunting for the best, largest and most delicious harvest! Therefore, when the ovaries grow, seasoned summer residents remove 1-2 leaves that prevent the rays of the sun from illuminating future zucchini.

But, of course, you shouldn't pinch the bush too much. Don't get carried away, citizens!
