The growth in prices for vegetables for six months averaged 189%
The entire Internet is buzzing about the fact that the prices of vegetables have gone up simply exorbitantly. Of course, this does not really concern us, the owners of our own gardens, but I nevertheless decided to see what happened to prices over the past six months. I still have photographs that I took on December 23, 2021, that is, exactly six months ago.
Therefore, it is possible to compare today's prices and prices before the New Year holidays. To be honest, the picture is disappointing. Let's do a little digital analysis and calculate the real inflation for the main vegetables.
Let's start with the main vegetable, without which not a single table in Russia and the nearest states can do - this is potatoes.
In December, potatoes could be bought for about 20 rubles. The washed one cost a little more, about 40 rubles. For those who care about it, they paid more. But in June 2021, the cheapest potato I found costs 72 rubles. Increase in prices by 260%.
Carrots are very useful and healthy vegetables. In winter, it cost 23 rubles. Even in a nightmare, it was impossible to imagine that you would have to buy carrots for 110 rubles! Price increase by 378%.
Onions - at the time of flu and other infections, onions serve as a prophylactic agent and should be consumed as much as possible. Its price in winter was 22 rubles, and now it costs 39 rubles. Price increase by 77%.
We need garlic, like onions, for the prevention of colds and as a seasoning for dishes. Its price in winter was 214 rubles per kilogram. This is, of course, Chinese garlic. In the summer, there is only packaged in 3 pieces, i.e. for 150 grams 49 rubles. That is, for 1 kilogram 326 rubles. Price increase by 52%.
Fresh cabbage cost 14 rubles in winter, and in summer it is sold for 39 rubles. How can you do without this main source of vitamins? Price increase by 178%.
To be honest, I haven't found beets in the store at all. In winter, it cost 43 rubles.
That is, if we calculate the average increase in prices for vegetables, it will amount to 189%. Comparison only for these main types.
This is the real inflation rate today for such important and traditionally available food as vegetables.
