Many housewives use screw caps for home preservation. Such covers are very reliable and they greatly simplify the process of conservation, because you do not need to use a seaming machine.
And all would be fine, but these lids have one problem - they are rather difficult to open. The thing is that during conservation, a vacuum forms in the jar, which subsequently holds the lid with great force.
Because of this, it is rather difficult to open such a jar with your hands. No, of course you can open it, but only those who have remarkable strength can do it.
My wife thinks that I just have such a heroic strength. Therefore, every time when it is necessary to open a can, she asks me to help her. At this moment, I appear in her eyes as the real Hercules, who easily copes with the stubborn cap (in fact, power is not needed here, I just know one little secret, who deliberately did not disclose to his wife).
She would never have found out how I do it, but one day, when I was not at home, my wife decided to try to open the jar herself, in the way that a neighbor once advised her. To do this, it was necessary to insert a knife under the cover and then turn it. In theory, air should get into the jar and then you can easily unscrew the lid by hand.
But it was not there! This method turned out to be quite dangerous, the jar burst and several fragments got inside (it's a shame, because it was very tasty strawberry jam).
To prevent this from happening again, I decided to reveal his secret and show his wife how quickly and effortlessly you can open a can.
Everything is very simple here! You don't need to have strong inflated arms to open the screw cap, you just need to have two arms.
And so, we clench one hand into a fist and show it to his wife with a menacing look, so that she understands that you cannot open a jar with a knife (this is, of course, a joke).
We take the can with one hand, holding it by the bottom, and lightly hit the lid with our fist. That's all! From such a light blow, air gets under the cover and it can be unscrewed without any effort. Now I regret that I showed my wife this method, because she no longer pesters me with a request to help her open a jar.
