Whole head garlic, is it worth planting
For the sake of experiment, before winter, at the same time as ordinary teeth, I planted a whole head. Great. Do not hesitate, I put more fertilizer under it so that the method shows the maximum.
True, the season was dry, the garlic is generally smaller than last year. But we are comparing what was growing nearby, under the same conditions.
I also removed the garlic at the same time. From one head, four have grown:
I dug it out on July 18, I compare:
At the bottom there are 4 heads of whole garlic, smaller, at the top of ordinary cloves
Where the new garlic was cramped, they deformed, became flat in the neighborhood, one layer of the skin is damp and ready to rot. That is, there is no way to store it.
I cleaned one:
These garlic look younger than their peers. And the arrows appeared later. Apparently, the forces were spent on the struggle.
I tasted it, compared it: the garlic from the head is meaner! Even though it looks young!
Naturally, I will not plant like that.
What do you think about planting whole heads of garlic?
I would be grateful for your subscription and communication :)
