Top rot is resting this year
Every year, the top rot in the greenhouse was, and significantly spoiled the harvest and mood. Calcium nitrate helped out, but some of the tomatoes were thrown away. Elongated fruits, yellow-fruited and Babushkino's tomato were especially affected.
Last season, I generally panicked, all of a sudden our calcium transportation is not just difficult, but bacteria are wielding. And that it will always be so now. And this year, FOR THE FIRST TIME, I barely found the top rot for a photo shoot, I thought I would not find it, but there are more than a hundred bushes. Until mid-July, there was not a single thing. Calcium is enough for tomatoes.
What has changed? I will write honestly, everything that I have done.
- Varieties prone to top rot were excluded. However, the place is never empty, I have several new, inclined ones in my greenhouse :)
- Diatomite was added to the seedling soil. A little. There is natural calcium and silicon. And at the same time, Diatomite is an excellent baking powder, better than vermiculite and agroperlite, in my opinion. And gently deacidifies the soil.
- Diatomite also put handfuls in the holes when planting tomatoes. I have been friends with Diatomite for several years. Unfortunately, it alone is not enough to solve the problem of apical rot.
- I sprayed it with calcium nitrate three times (1 g per 1 L + bioadhesive)
About other assistants
I think two fundamentally new solutions helped. The first is amino acids. And the second is a new generation fertilizer - Nutrivant plus for tomatoes.
By the way, the manufacturers did not say a word about the top! This is my discovery.
Amino acids and calcium
When planting, each tomato in the greenhouse received one of three preparations (as lucky as anyone):
They are similar in composition. Difference: Aminosol - more amino acids, ALIVE - cheaper, Acadian - seaweed concentrate, i.e. amino acids of plant, not animal origin.
As far as I understand, calcium salts of amino acids were successfully formed and transported. This is oversimplified, yet biochemistry in a plant is not so primitive.
Why three drugs? Well, how! I bought it for trial! One ended, the second ended, in the absence of the first two - Akadian. I planned it for the foliar.
Everyone does not read until the end of the chapter, only fans of numbers! The rest immediately to the next chapter.
The solution was directed according to the instructions:
- Aminosol: 100 ml per 10 liters (a bottle, 100 ml is more profitable) Under a bush from half a liter to 2 liters, as needed.
- ALIVE: 10 g pack, 10 l. Under a bush 2 l (For flowers 5 ml per 10 l, exactly the same ALIVE, only in a pack of 5 g, and it comes out more expensive).
- Akadian: the instructions indicate the total seasonal norms for a hundred square meters and hectares, and that more water is needed, so I poured a little into a bucket by eye, and 2 liters under a bush.
Aminosol contains more than 20 amino acids of animal origin (full complex), in the preparation there are 55%.
ALIVE 18 L-amino acids, 80%
In Akadian, the composition is indicated without taking into account the compounds, but these are also amino acids, ready-made, like algae without them.
So my discovery is Aminosol or ALIVE when planting tomato seedlings for permanent residence, what is needed from the top rot!
Let's move on to the fourth remedy, which is completely different.
Nutrivant plus for tomatoes, how it could protect
There is an additive for foliar feeding in this, as it were, an ordinary, complex fertilizer. That's the whole point. Fertivant called. Creates the thinnest film on the leaves, which reduces evaporation.
In the greenhouse, it is the increased evaporation that interferes with the normal transport and absorption of calcium. So, the heat was phenomenal. Of course, the microclimate in the greenhouse was improved with bottles with water, nothing without them. Only in previous years there were more containers of water, and the top was raging.
I will say something interesting about Nutrivant:
- They can protect plants only for a month, then it collapses
- And only 3 times per season
- There is no calcium in it
- Thanks to Fertivant, the fertilizer is absorbed gradually, within a month.
This is so unusual. Israeli.
A lot of letters turned out, round off! I shared the holiday of the soul: the first year, practically, without top rot in the greenhouse!
Good harvests to everyone!
