Elon Musk showed the 29-engine Super Heavy rocket SpaceX Raptor ahead of its first orbital launch
Impressive CEO of Tesla as well as SpaceX has shared images confirming 29 engines SpaceX Raptor is already mounted on a Super Heavy rocket, which is being prepared for its first orbital flight.
Preparing for the next tests and far-reaching plans
So last July, SpaceX representatives conducted a test launch of three engines at once installed on the first version. Super Heavy rocket, and in the very near future the engineers plan to test simultaneously nine propulsion installations.
Super Heavy is the first reusable stage designed to send the large Starship spacecraft into orbit. At the same time, the height of the carrier is equal to a considerable 70 meters, and together with the spacecraft, the total height will be 120 meters.
Space X plans to use the Starship spacecraft to deliver astronauts to our closest red neighbor, Mars. It is planned that the spacecraft will be fully ready for long-range manned flight by 2023 year, of course, if everything goes according to plan and all tests go smoothly and without serious abnormal situations.
And if the engineers of the Elon Musk company reach the planned level and begin to produce from 800 to 1000 engines per year, then within 10 years it will be possible to form a fleet of ships, which will make it possible to build a fully autonomous city on Mars.
Well, we wish Elon Musk success in his endeavors and we will follow the company's success and rejoice that humanity is developing and turning into a space civilization.
