It is possible, and sometimes even necessary! 6 rules in interior decor that are not shameful to violate when decorating your apartment
Compliance with certain rules during the repair, design and subsequent arrangement of the apartment can save you from annoying mistakes, which can later cost you a pretty penny. But there are norms that are not true and absolute dogma. So you can move away from them without any special consequences for yourself!
Good afternoon dear friends!
And then very carefully so as not to upset the balance and not create a tasteless, lurid interior. And this, as you guessed it, is quite simple to do! In general, to make it easier for you to understand what you can and cannot do, I have prepared a list of 6 design rules that can be broken without a twinge of conscience.
By the way, perhaps such a step - against the "current" - will allow you to bring to life your unique, fashionable, harmonious interior, unlike anything else. Go for it, and you will succeed!
1.Plain ceiling. The white ceiling is a classic. It is good because it suits any interior style: Provence, high-tech, pop art, eclecticism, etc. But it's worth moving away from this stereotype, decorating the ceiling in any other color, and VOIL - the furnishings are already becoming more original, an individual bright hatch.
However, you should be extremely careful when choosing a shade for this solution, not forgetting to use the color wheel or a specially developed program by the paint manufacturer.
2.Designer interior. It is no secret that it is very difficult to decorate an apartment "inside and out" in the same style (there are memorabilia that will not suit a new setting). Therefore, we will leave the ban on mixing styles and patterns for someone else! And we ourselves will try to add an old-fashioned wardrobe, a colorful carpet, pillows with homemade pillowcases and modern posters to the restrained interior of the living room.
Without overdoing it, combining different interior styles. Between which, for example, the following ratio must be observed: 80% of the design of the main, 20% of the additional.
3.Everything at once. Standard, indistinguishable interiors have long been out of fashion. Today, decoration must be individualized, showing the hobbies and tastes of the homeowners. Therefore, feel free to flaunt photos, souvenirs, handicrafts, books, records, etc. Any collection you have collected and things "with history" will add a unique, inimitable touch to the interior of the apartment.
But don't arrange things randomly. Better to put them together in a harmonious ensemble on a shelf, dresser, wall or in an open closet.
4.Dark touch. Until recently, dark colors and shades were considered taboo and were practically not used in interior design. And why? Allegedly, they make the room gloomy, uncomfortable, and the atmosphere in it - heavy and depressing. So - these are all prejudices!
The main thing is to be able to apply them: strictly, dosed, verified! And then it will be possible to emphasize the setting, change the geometry of the room, or even emphasize architectural nuances.
5.Symbiosis of incongruous furniture. Another rule that can be neglected is the use of the same type of furniture. Today, all kinds of mixes and unexpected furniture combinations are in vogue. For example, different chairs in the same color or, conversely, the same stools, but painted with different colors. Therefore, it is possible and even necessary to combine accessories in one room that are different in style and performance.
The only thing is that things from the furnishings should have something in common: color, shape or time period.
6.Lots of indoor plants. The eco-friendly trend is extremely popular today. Indoor plants are used to decorate walls, balconies, corners and workplaces, creating true mini-gardens. But they try to do it in dosage, bringing one or two copies into the setting. I suggest not to stop and not limit yourself in their number and variety of species. If you want five - place five, more - no question!
The main thing is that the plants do not interfere with your daily life, and caring for them is not a burden.
