What is the reason for the sagging of the sash of the window / door

There can be two reasons. First: installers in new housing install door and window structures anyhow, they do not regulate anything, or they make adjustments carelessly - if only it could be closed somehow. Second: during operation, the adjusting screws of the locking mechanisms weaken, unwind, and this causes the sash to sag.

What is needed for adjustment

The problem can be fixed very quickly and easily. All you need is a furniture hex key; a Phillips screwdriver comes in handy just in case. But if you undertake to carry out the adjustment, then the mechanisms should be lubricated at the same time - any machine oil is suitable for this.

How to adjust the window / door to eliminate sagging of the sash

At the top of each window / door sash (from the hinge side) there is an adjusting screw for a hex key (see. Photo). This screw is responsible for the position of the sash. If the sash is slack, then this adjusting screw is loose or completely unscrewed. It only needs to be tightened clockwise with a hex wrench. Tighten the adjusting screw until the sash starts to close normally. That's all! After this simple adjustment, the sash will return to its normal position and stop touching the frame.

While adjusting, check the tightness of the remaining screws and screws at the same time, as they may also be loose. Be sure to lubricate all pivot and locking mechanisms. And if you have undertaken to do prophylaxis, clean the sealing gum from dust and apply silicone grease to them. It won't hurt!
