A year ago we moved from a provincial town to our house, which is located in a village. The history of our move from city to village lasted 5 years - that's how long we built a new house. Our family consists of three people, our son is a student. The eldest daughter and her family live separately in a neighboring town.

Having left the city, we faced a considerable number of new tasks, which we solve with pleasure and we know that we are doing everything only for ourselves, and not for an apartment building!

Many people today dream of leaving the city and living closer to nature. But in order to decide on this, you need to provide yourself with conditions that are no worse and even better than in a city apartment.

Next to our new house is an old house, the roof of which is covered with sheet metal and is in relatively good condition. But the shed was attached to the house later, and was covered with roofing material. And here, of course, the state is very bad. It flows in several places, but we use it to store building materials and all the necessary trash. Yes, there is such rubbish - "necessary". And it is often used here and there. That's what a private house is for.

We are not going to buy expensive materials to repair this roof. Although many people dissuade us that it is not worth saving, savings will come back to haunt. And we decided to calculate everything.

Our roof area is 33 square meters. If we take overlaps and overlaps, then about 37 square meters.

We have corrugated board, but we will not use it on the shed, because in a few years it will all be demolished. The corrugated board will go to the bathhouse, to which the turn will soon come. After all, the price for it today is just crazy, and we bought it at the old price. Let him wait in the wings.

We looked at the prices in a large home goods store. And here's what we got:

If we do roofing material again, then we will need 3000 rubles (in two layers). For roofing material, more boards are needed, but the slab is prepared, it has been lying for a year already, dry, ready for work.

If you buy slate, you will need 10,000 rubles. Here we will have to hire workers, because we ourselves will not carry heavy sheets to the roof, we do not want to ruin our health.

Decking would cost 25,000 rubles, but you also need self-tapping screws and other accessories.

So it's worth considering whether you need to spend money on a high-quality roof to cover the roof of an old barn. Roofing material will, of course, have to be repaired again in 3 years, or even changed. But it will still cost a lot cheaper, especially since we can work with it on our own and do not need to hire anyone.

If slate were cheaper, then it is an ideal option, because it is a very durable material. It is said to be harmful due to its asbestos content. But we don't have living quarters, so there is no difference for us in this regard.

Therefore, we planned to go to a hypermarket in the near future, buy rolls of roofing material, which can be brought even in the trunk of a car. And make a cheap roof again as a temporary option.
