How to clean large bottles and cans: 4 simple and effective ways

Large containers with a narrow neck have a problem - they are very difficult to wash, since it is almost impossible to get to all the walls with a brush. But this is not necessary. Method 1: building sand and soda

This is perhaps the easiest way to remove all plaque and greens from the bottle / canister cavity. All that is required is a handful of coarse-grained construction sand and three to five liters of warm water. Pour sand (200 grams) into a container, add warm water, close the lid and shake well for 3-5 minutes. If there is strong dirt inside, you can add 50 grams of baking soda to the sand. After this procedure, drain the liquid and rinse the container thoroughly.

Method 2: buckwheat or rice with liquid soap

It happens that coarse sand cannot be found in the district, or a person lives in an apartment where this loose building material is not found. Then you can take a handful of rice or buckwheat (100-150 grams), 20 grams of liquid soap, pour it all into a container, add a couple of liters of water, close the lid and shake it well. Within 3-5 minutes, all the dirt will be beaten off the walls of the container. Then rinse the container well and you're done!

Method 3: nutshells and soda / mustard

If there is no sand nearby, and you do not want to transfer food to washing containers, then there is another reliable way. It is necessary to take the shell of nuts (walnuts, hazelnuts, etc.), grind to a fraction of 0.5-2 cm, fill in container, add 50 grams of soda or dry mustard, pour 2-3 liters of warm water, close the lid and well shake. You will also have to shake it - 3-5 minutes. If you don't have a nutshell at hand, then an egg will do. For one twenty-liter container, you will need a shell of 10-15 eggs.

Method 4: how to clean fuel / oil cans

If you need to adapt petrochemical containers for household needs (watering), then the process will consist of several stages. First you need to pour 100 grams of sand into a container, add 70-100 grams of any engine cleaner, pour 2-3 liters hot water, close the lid, shake well, let it brew for 20 minutes, shake again for 3-5 minutes.

The second step is also to use sand, hot water, but use car shampoo instead of engine cleaner. Do everything as in the above algorithm.

The third step is to do everything as in the previous two, but with the addition of liquid soap or baking soda. After all stages of washing, the container must be rinsed and in the future it can be used for industrial water, irrigation, etc.
