Walked around the city to see what kind of country benches are made by local craftsmen
It's time to refine the area around our house. We have already set up a vegetable garden, but there are still many building materials on the site. Nevertheless, I want to put a few garden benches so that I can relax around the house, admiring the fruits of my labor during the day, at sunset, at night at the stars!
Therefore, I found an ad in the group of our village VKontakte, where some craftsman offered services for the manufacture of any garden furniture. I asked him where you can see his work. Ion replied that many benches in the city were made by his firm. He makes both concrete bases, which he pours himself, and metal ones. Such a variety made me happy.
As a result, we went for a walk on a weekend and pay attention to what benches there are in the city.
The first thing that caught our eye were wooden benches complete with trash cans in the city center. They are on concrete legs, solid and bulky. We, of course, did not suit at all.
The second option is here, nearby - already with a back. It was better. But I can't even imagine putting such a monumental structure in my garden. Of course, it brings back memories of the Soviet pioneer camp, but I can somehow cope with nostalgia without such a product!
Going a little further, we saw already a metal frame near the benches with a wooden seat and back. It looks much more elegant than concrete, but still - clumsy.
And in the historical center of the city there are such benches with seats in different directions. It is not clear what the authors had in mind. Some kind of antagonism emanates from such seats. People turn their backs to each other - a strange decision.
And there are no interesting finds, no zest in the products of local craftsmen. Everything is formulaic, boring
In short, I did not see anything suitable. In general, I would like a bench in my garden, similar to the one that I saw in a sanatorium on the Black Sea, where I rested.
It is forged, with curly legs, armrests and a brown polycarbonate roof. My husband laughs at me, but I like this resting place. And in the heat will cover, and in the rain, and in the wind. After all, you can remove polycarbonate for the winter, it's not that big. If you put it somewhere not in the center, but on the side, then it will be just wonderful.
Which of the suggested benches would you choose for your garden?
