How to make a reusable from a disposable seasoning mill: saving wisely

Now, perhaps, not a single meat, fish or vegetable dish is complete without pepper. This spice is the most common seasoning on the planet. The most famous varieties of pepper are black, green, white, red, pink and allspice. But pepper is only good when it is freshly ground; as they say - from the mill directly into the dish. Ready-made powders sold in packs lose their rich aroma. So it is better to have a mill at home, and buy peppers in the form of peas. And for those who purchase seasonings in disposable mills, we will tell and show how to make a reusable one from a disposable one.

A few marketing subtleties

There are now three types of seasoning mills on store shelves. Some manufacturers realized that it was unprofitable for people to spend 150–180 rubles once a week on a disposable mill and made their products conditionally reusable.

To avoid problems with "recharging", read the product information. If you come across a flask with the inscription "REUSABLE MILL", then it can be refueled with a new one 3-6 times without any problems.

It won't work anymore, because the mechanism there is plastic and it won't last long. Marketers do not want to sell us the "eternal primus needle", since manufacturing companies need to earn exorbitant prices from selling penny glass.

Two more types of mills are strictly disposable, but with different cover designs. For some, they are easy to open, while for others it is more difficult, but you can still "print" them. This will be discussed further.

Method one - heating (for seasonings of the Kamis brand)

When you run out of contents in the flask, try opening the lid by heating. That is, warm up the lid: direct a stream of a regular hair dryer at it or place it in hot water for 30 seconds. Then simply remove the top, fill the flask with seasoning and immediately put on the lid with a little effort. All this is done quickly and easily!

Method two - disassembling the grinding mechanism (for seasonings of the Kotanyi brand)

If the lid cannot be removed when heated, then the grinding mechanism must be disassembled. To do this, slightly heat the mechanism with a hairdryer, pry the upper round part (cover with a burr) with a knife and remove it. Next, fill the flask with seasoning, again warm up the mechanism a little and insert this lid back. Ready!

Both of the above methods will allow you to save on the purchase of disposable mills by converting them into conditionally reusable ones.
