The manufacturer of the S-400 Almaz-Antey missile systems will create its own version of a civilian hybrid vehicle
So the defense complex Almaz-Antey, who is widely known for the development and production of missile systems such as S-400, is also developing a hybrid vehicle for civilian use and working title car - E-NEVA.
The future car will run on hydrogen as well as electricity. This was reported by RBC, citing its sources in the department.
What is known about a civilian vehicle from a defense enterprise
It is known that the company plans to create two working versions of a hybrid car at once. The first version will successfully operate only on a gas engine and will be able to travel up to one thousand kilometers with one refueling.
The second version will receive a hybrid installation, which will have a 52-liter unit, as well as a battery with a capacity of 70 kW * h. According to the calculations of engineers, such a combination will allow the future car to drive about 800 km with one refueling and charge. At the same time, the car will be able to cover about 500 km without recharging.
In addition, the car will be able to be charged from the regular network. At the same time, in both versions, the car will be able to accelerate to 100 km per hour in just 8.5 seconds, and the maximum speed will be 180 km per hour. Other technical parameters of the hybrid car were not specified.
NGV vehicles are not used for military purposes, so E-NEVA will be designed exclusively for civilian use. When the new product will enter the market and how much it will cost, it is not known.
Well, it will be extremely curious what the result will be (and whether it will work at all) at the domestic defense enterprise in the civilian automotive industry.
And it will be doubly interesting how much all this will cost in the end. In the meantime, it remains only to wait.
