Custom ideas from plastic bottles
The easiest way, of course, is to throw away the bottle, which I sometimes do myself, but sometimes it becomes a pity and I think: what could be made out of it in a hurry? And so, at different times these crafts appeared, which are shown below.
1. The first thing - a beer can in a plastic bottle - is a purely experimental version, which in "series" was never launched, but as a sealed metal container for technical fluids, the idea came in handy. In this case, a PET bottle needs to be flat, and it was shrinked on a jar in boiling water. It is not worth trying too hard when the bottle shrinks so that the soft aluminum can does not deform.
2. You can cut a flat sheet of plastic from a three-liter plastic bottle and then make a small protective screen out of it, which will protect against debris and dust getting into your eyes. I attached a wide elastic band to it with a stapler and, for a snug fit on top, glued a piece of door seal from the inside. Such a thing will not serve for years, but it will definitely help out several times, especially when some short-term dirty work has to be done
3. Once, a plafond broke in the lamp and it lay idle for a long time until it adapted a self-made plafond to it, made in 15 minutes. Although, if you do not glue the strips of electrical tape in a circle, then 5 minutes will be enough. As a decor, it is better to glue something else on such a lampshade, since the sticky layer of electrical tape, even at low temperatures, gradually lags behind the base and it slides off. You should not worry about heating and melting such a plafond. An ordinary 10 W LED lamp hardly heats it up. And if you make 1-2 holes for ventilation, then, I think, it will generally remain cold.
4. Many people want to understand how to cut a PET bottle into tape in the simplest way. This method is shown in the picture below. All you need is a construction knife and a piece of plastic bent in half, through which you need to thread the blade, making a slot. The thickness of the resulting tape depends on the height of the slot from the top of the bend of the plastic. The picture shows a device with 3 slots to obtain tape of three different sizes. The edge of the bottle is notched with a smooth bevel, is wound over the blade in an adaptation and is pulled by hand.
5. Another homemade product is a thermos for cold drinks and water. Inside a three-liter bottle with a cut-off bottom and neck, a liter bottle is placed, which serves as the working capacity of the thermos. The space between the bottles is filled with polyurethane foam. The bottom of the bottle is also filled with foam and stretched over the main part. The gizmo turns out to be quite massive, but quite working. If you pour cold compote or beer into it, then in the heat for 4-5 hours it remains cool. And even after 8 hours, a cold drink does not heat up much. But this is provided that the homemade product is well insulated with foam from both above and below.
