Tomato Sergeant Pepper or Blue Jolie, which is better
What do we know about tomato Sergeant Pepper?
- Handsome (first photo) and tasty
- Unlimited growth
- As far as I understand, this American has been in Russia since 2017, and was bred in 2010. Note, not so long ago, he was a hybrid.
- Breeder Jason Hines, Virginia, USA.
- This fashionable variety is Sergeant Pepper, a lot has been written about him. Moreover, this cannot be called a marketing ploy, the seeds are sold only by collectors. So Sergeant Pepper is the people's favorite.
- And, importantly, the varietal characteristics are quite stable, although Sergeant may or may not be productive, very tasty and common.
I was too small:
The yield was not great, the taste is excellent - tomato with an exotic touch!
I didn't take a photo too much, I want to get a better result next year, more spectacular. It turned out that the bush was not very accessible for photography.
In one of the reviews I read that Sergeant Pepper supposedly the only heart-shaped tomato with anthocyanin.
I had a similar tomato this season, only larger: the mysterious Blue Jolies.
I did not find information about its origin. In all respects he was superior to the Sergeant. True, only I had such a Blue Jolie. Others have a flattened, less anthocyanin, or even brown rather than blue. As far as I understand, if you call some Jolie Blue, then this is mine. In the fall, in the cold, he was completely blue! All the fruits are like that. On the windowsill the bottom brightened a little.
So how did my Blue Jolies outperform my Sergeant Pepper?
By beauty and size:
By yield:
The taste is roughly similar. Great. The cut looks like:
Why did it turn out differently for me? Because American varieties are surprise varieties. Not long ago, they were first generation hybrids. Therefore, you will never know in advance what will happen this time.
How did your Sergeants Peppers and Blue Jolies turn out?
