I thought that a laser is ideal when installing a frame under drywall. But the usual thread turned out to be much more accurate.

I am not a supporter of the phrase "our grandfathers built ...", but sometimes simple construction solutions turn out to be much better than modern technologies. And, as always, only in practice, you can be sure of this.

Friends, I am glad to welcome you. The next large-scale stage of the robot for building a house with its own hands has begun. After the floor screed was made, I decided to immediately jump to the ceiling.

The wife, as always, is an assistant ...

I decided to make the interior decoration of my house from drywall:

• I will stick the sheets on the walls.
• And mount the ceiling on the frame.

Making a frame for drywall will be the main part of all this work. In addition, in a niche under the ceiling, an electrician will still need to be diluted. Therefore, I decided to start with this main part.

Accurate markings are key to success.

Indeed, in the installation of the ceiling frame, I marked out more than mounted.

• And since I do everything for the first time, I double-check everything and try to do it as accurately as possible (although this is not always necessary).

• At the same time, it is not unimportant to work out the process itself so that both the accuracy and the speed of work are.

In this regard, the laser level seemed to me the ideal option.

With the help of it, I easily made the markings for the suspensions.

It is only necessary to measure the distances on the extreme beams (to which the fasteners will be made), and then connect the marking with a laser beam and mark the middle of the ceiling.

But with the installation of the profile, everything went awry.

And in the literal sense ...

The frame profile set in the ideal plane is the main task in this work.

Of course, it is difficult to get into absolute zero, but the smoother the plane is, the better the drywall will lie, and there will be less work with its putty.

And here I also decided to do everything using a laser level.

And what: I fixed it in one of the corners, and got a reference point on the plane of the entire ceiling. It seemed to be the perfect solution.

But in fact, a problem arose. Laser beam irregularity.

In one place it was a clear, thin beam, and in the other it was a wide smeared stripe. And how to navigate here was not clear. It is possible that this is the problem of my device, but a subsequent check with the rule showed a difference in some places, up to 3-4 mm.

An ordinary thread came to the rescue.

First, two extreme profiles were exposed, and a thread was pulled between them.

And although the very process of pulling these threads took time, it was the clearest guideline by which everything could be done perfectly. And for yourself this is the only way you need it.

Tie the main thread with a small indent so that it does not touch the following profiles.

As a result, there is practically no drop (maybe 1 mm, where it will slip through), which means there will be fewer problems in the future.
