I went to my sister's birthday, but I had to console her, since the guests did not like the birthday girl's treat
My cousin has a small anniversary - 44 years old. Next year will be 45, as you know, "berry again" and other pleasant things. Therefore, there will be a great celebration. And this year she decided to gather only the closest people and celebrate at home, since it is very difficult and problematic to gather somewhere now.
I decided to surprise my parents, uncle and aunt, mother-in-law and two sisters with new dishes - a table in an oriental style. She rolled her own rolls, made new salads, mainly with fish and seafood. Made a tartlet of snacks. Everything turned out very nice and tasty.
But the older generation did not appreciate her efforts at all. At first it was fun with the rolls, all the old people gasped and groaned from wasabi and ginger, how interesting and complicated it all is. Funny puffing, struggling to cope with the chopsticks, dipping in soy sauce and trying to take it to your taste. But they did not like the salads with Chinese cabbage, the rice seemed bland. And, in general, her mother said - "we are not full." After that, they whispered with their mother-in-law, with whom they live in perfect harmony, and retired to the kitchen. After 10 minutes, they brought in a bowl of Olivier salad, and after another 15 minutes - boiled dumplings, however, of their own manufacture, which were cooked a few days ago and put in the freezer. Most of all, the sister finished off the fact that all the guests almost applauded this treat, commenting in the spirit that “food, so food”!
She simply burst into tears in the kitchen, where we went with her for plates. She wanted to surprise everyone, please and amuse, but it turned out to be such a disgrace that she starved the guests with hunger. I consoled her that these were just retirement freaks. For example, I ate to the heap of both seafood salads and rolls. It was true, everything was delicious.
And then she invited her family to play a Japanese board game, which she specially bought for this evening, so that everything was in the same style. The rules are simple, the game is called "Secret Message" - a unique Japanese board game.
When she began to explain what to do, our uncle, my mother's brother, who was one of the main dissatisfied with Eastern cuisine, said that this was nonsense and he brought something better with him. And pulled out a deck of cards. I no longer remember when I saw the last card - it was 20 years ago. And the whole team of relatives yelled happily and sat down to play the fool.
The sister was forced to humiliately collect the beautiful cards of the board game and, with a strained smile, announce that this, apparently, would actually be better.
She cried a little more in the kitchen amid laughter and noise from the hall. And I told her that everyone is full, everyone is having fun, let them spend their time as they want. And we sat down with her to play the game "Secret Message", very entertaining, even together, and that is interesting.
This is how the anniversary went with the beautiful number 44. Probably, my sister wanted to introduce her relatives to something new, to expand their gastronomic preferences, to introduce them to fashionable food. I even wanted to spend my leisure time in a new way. But the older generation turned out to be very ossified and rather tactless in this regard.
