How to make your shoes non-slip: a simple but very useful life hack for winter

This method is very helpful when the shoe has a flat and even sole that turns into real skates in the snow!
What does that require?
The anti-slip sole requires a little preparation, which will require:
- brush;
- fine-grained sandpaper;
- alcohol or any degreaser.
Any silicone sealant, which can be bought at a hardware store from 90 rubles per tube, will act as anti-slip protection. But this tube is enough for more than one pair of shoes!
What should be done?
The sole must be clean before applying the sealant. To do this, wash it thoroughly with a brush and dry it. Next, you need to improve the adhesion of the silicone to the outsole material. Take sandpaper and roughen the sole where the anti-slip pattern will be applied. After that, degrease the areas treated with sandpaper.
The last step is to apply 8-15 strips of sealant to the sole, let it dry for 24 hours and the non-slip shoes are ready! But the drawing is not fundamental - it can be applied even with squares, even with circles, even with dots - it will still work!
Silicone practically does not slip on ice and rolled snow. The sole prepared in this way will protect the walking on winter streets. This method of preparing shoes serves 2-4 weeks - it all depends on the intensity of walking and the surface: on the asphalt, the silicone strips will wear off faster.
How to remove the silicone afterwards?
Residual silicone sealant can then be removed with white spirit, kerosene or a specialized sealant remover. The silicone is easy to peel off and does no harm to the shoe sole.
