I thought that my friend bought an expensive flower for the garden again: it looked luxurious. Asked
Do you want to get acquainted with a new version of a plant already common in Russian gardens? Then a fiery salute, comrade curious florist! Today on the agenda is a flower of rare beauty, romantic and delicate; retained the simplicity of its previous version.
My acquaintance with "Suede"
Here, perhaps, it is worth confessing that I am a little blind. And, of course, I never wear glasses. Therefore, when my wife and I came to visit her friend's dacha, I saw something big and pink by the fence.
Zhenushka's girlfriend, like being in poverty in the 90s and suddenly rich, is known for a craving for chaotic purchases of "exclusive" gizmos. Yes, this is the same person who first acquired the "lily trees". And now he is dragging into the garden what is "expensive and fashionable."
Examining the pink and furry cloud, I thought it was a sinful thing that it was some kind of tall variety of roses or a completely unusual delphinium. Came up: "Bah!!! So this is a mal-va! "
Yes, yes, the same mallow that in the bright Soviet past grew in every second front garden. Just a different grade.
Mallow variety "Pink Suede" that conquered Fedor
In fact, "Pink Suede" has only one difference - it has double flowers, more decorative than the version we are used to. And to understand the charm of this flower, you need to see it live!
Comrade, I give the technical characteristics of the stock-rose (another name for mallow):
- The height of the bush is as much as 2 meters.
- Because of this, it is necessary to plant mallow where it is sunny and there is no strong wind. In the shade, the stems will turn out to be weak and strong wind will break them. The ideal place for a suede rose would be in a corner, near a fence or a wall of a building.
- Lack of mallow - a garter to the support may be required so that the stem, again, does not break.
- Blooms from July to September. Not bad, right?
Another challenge on the road to suede beauty is waiting. If you sow seeds outdoors in May, this year the plant will focus on growing leaves. And it will bloom only next year. But I think the beauty is worth it!
Note to a friend: When you decide to buy, look at the expiration date. In stock roses, only fresh seeds germinate well (no older than 2 years)
By the way, for some reason they write "Biennial" on the seed package. But our stock roses are usually perennials. It's just that for some reason they are grown as biennials. I found information that the reason is decorative: in the third year, as they write, it becomes lower. But a family friend, just in case, mulched for the winter with sawdust, peat.
Like Suede Rose? Press, comrade, "Thumbs up"!
Sincerely yours, half-blind and hurrying to you with interesting finds, Fyodor Tyapkin-Sklyankin.
