Just a few months ago, the concept of "recuperation" was another incomprehensible word for me (the first impression is that it is something related to ventilation, expensive and unnecessary). But just as taste comes with eating, so a simple interest in such systems grew into a desire to do all this in your home ...

Friends, everyone is a huge hello. To be honest, I didn't think that the issue of ventilation would take any place at all in the construction of my house.

All my life I lived in an apartment, with ventilation in the form of airing windows, and I thought that this would be enough. I also spent a lot of time in my grandmother's private house, where, of course, there was no question of any ventilation systems either ...

And of course, all this is firmly stuck in the brain, so you can't knock it out with a simple theory.

Only a new personal experience, already with my new house, which I am building now, helped to look at the issue of ventilation in a different way.

In the current realities of building a house, for most people, the issue of energy efficiency is in the foreground (

✅ It was at the moment when everything worked out that many realize (again as it was with me), that without fresh air, it turns out to be nowhere ...

In my house, everything became clear by the level of humidity, which is observed not only on the devices, but also felt both tactilely (dampness of clothes that remains in the house) and visually (for example, condensation on windows).

And banal ventilation is simply not enough, because you are trying to find a balance between fresh air and keeping the house warm (especially when everything is heated by electricity).

Having felt this, I understood why there is so much attention now to ventilation in a private house.

It became clear why many are talking about the need not just for a natural supply and exhaust, but about a whole system with a heat recovery function.

Suddenly, who does not know, and after reading up to this point does not understand what the speech is about, I will explain. Heat recovery applied to air ventilation system - this is the use of part of the heat from the air removed from the room for heating the supply air. Those. we do not just throw out all the warm air outside, as when ventilating, but we take some of the heat from it.

But it is in this part that there is a catch ...

Most people fail to understand one simple thing: "Is it worth it, and will the investment pay off? " Considering this question, I approached from afar.

✔ A ventilation system is needed in any case. And when they say that I have one hole for the entrance, one for the exit, and everything is fine, then people simply do not understand what it is about.

• Humidity from human activity.
• The CO2 level that not many people think about, but which affects our health.
• Plus, harmful fumes from everything that surrounds us in the house (building materials, furniture, etc.).

All this comes "bundled" with modern houses, and you need to take it out regularly, with a lot of air.

✔ Based on the previous paragraph, a ventilation system with recuperation will already be a necessity if the house is heated with electricity. Here, every penny counts, and every kilowatt flown into the ventilation pipe, respectively ...

✔ But, despite all of the above, the payback of recuperators is still questionable. Here, the higher the declared percentage of recuperation, the more expensive the system is.

There are representatives of "recuperators" in the form of a wall valve. They are designed for one room, and only legends go about their effectiveness, but I have not heard really good reviews. Only the price can please (about 10,000 rubles).

And there are serious systems (at least they look like that), which work with the ventilation of the whole house.

But the price of such equipment bites a lot (an average of 100,000 p.)

But there is one trade-off.

What if you make the system yourself?

Of course, not everyone is ready to go for it, but according to preliminary fittings, everything is real.

• The system is not that complicated.
• There are many examples on the Internet, and they work.
• The prime cost, in comparison with the purchased option, is just a penny.

And I just cannot pass by such an opportunity... The first steps in this work have already been taken.
