The poet was interested in spiritual affairs, the poetry of winter. Let's talk about prose. Whether a warm December is associated with a bad or good harvest. Or not connected in any way?

On December 18, we had a lot of bushes with swollen buds in the city:

Of course, this will not surprise anyone. In the south, in general, new leaves often appear in November-December. However, we also have a few leaves:

Will the harvest be lower, will there be more diseases?

Previously, I did not pay much attention to this phenomenon. It was a bit of a pity that the plants were mistaken, they confused winter with spring. But they also have spare kidneys, no big deal. So I thought. Until I realized on my own what it is bad to sleep.

This is lower efficiency, and it is easier to get sick, but just out of the blue, fatigue and poor health. So it is with plants.

But that's not all, in the south there are warm winters and gorgeous harvests. Our winters are often cold. And now, real frosts have already come:

It would seem that our fruit trees and berries did not wake up, well, that's good. It's good if you fell asleep after all, and did not guess: spring is not spring? And if they slept badly, then it was an overconsumption of energy, reserves of substances. And the frost also came.

It is known that the youngest branches always freeze, is it not because they wanted spring ahead of time?

It seems so theoretically. However, there are so many factors affecting crop and plant health that I think the warm December will have little or no effect.

Have you noticed that after the deceptive heat, the harvest is less, more diseases?

There will be fewer pests

Although I see one plus in such a natural anomaly. Pests also sleep badly, often whole hordes die from a warm-frost situation.

It was like that in my childhood. The year is probably 1972. It happened such a summer in Krasnodar that caterpillars were in terrible numbers everywhere. Then I was afraid to walk down the street and under the trees, I thought, why plant trees at all, if caterpillars fall from them?

I have never seen so many of them again. Then my father explained that in the spring the butterflies flew out from the heat, and they were beaten by the frost. How good! I am for such warmth - frost!

Interestingly, who will freeze? If only the American butterfly! And the whitefly!
