Capsule apartments in China, or how to survive in a box from under the refrigerator
In China, there is indeed a problem with housing. Overpopulation of the country it is no secret. And the majority of the population belongs to the middle class, especially a lot of apartments and houses do not configure and will acquire. But the Chinese and then were able to adapt.
In some provinces there are capsular home. It all started with the city of Wuhan - the most populous in China. The owner of one of the buildings I saw in Japan capsule hotels and decided to follow their example. Only implement this example with the worst hand.
If Japanese hotel capsules can be called in the full sense of the word (the box in the room, in the form of capsule beds), the capsule home is just restored from the usual tiny little room apartments size. The area of these rooms is about 4-4.5 meters. That is no more than an average bathroom.
But even in such tiny spaces often live not one but two people. And what to do, hire an expensive pleasure, and low salaries. The bulk of the landlords - young professionals, vendors, messengers, ordinary laborers.
In this room contains all the essentials - a bed (sometimes two-story, or only the second floor, the attic), TV, kitchen and even the bathroom (shower and sink). In some of the rooms and the toilet is right there. At best, it's a kind of built-in bidet, but usually - just a hole in the floor, fenced off the shutter.
Many capsules are removed over the years, as another opportunity not to stay in the street is not there. The room lives or one or two people. If it is not a couple, and neighbors, they are trying is not in the room at one time.
So if you're shooting a small room or apartment and complain about life - just smile and be happy about it. At least you did not go to the toilet, where eat.
