I will continue the cycle of publications devoted to new construction technologies.

Most of the new products appear and are introduced in the west. It takes several years for some of them to appear on our market, but more often than not, many solutions never reach us.

I believe that such technologies include the Emmedue building system. These are foam panels with a reinforcing mesh on both sides.

The panels are exposed on the foundation, the mesh on them is connected to each other, fixing the structure. From similar foam panels, floors are also mounted, which have cavities for reinforcing and filling these cavities as beams. And the foam itself acts as a permanent formwork and a basis for a concrete mixture as a plaster. Moreover, a pitched roof is made from the same panels. Before pouring them, you need to set up the formwork, props.

Next, a layer of concrete is applied to the surface using the torquetting technology (supply of concrete mixture under pressure). But since the foam structure is still unstable and does not withstand the high pressure of the concrete mass, it is often done with a simple plastering station with a pneumatic feed.

After leveling the surfaces with the rule and painting the building, they take on something like this:

This is an example of a building being constructed in Angola. The technology belongs to prefabricated buildings. The construction of such a house can take no more than a week (with a pre-filled foundation). This technology is used to build houses at scientific stations even in Antarctica. An important criterion for construction there is speed.

With the help of this building system, houses are erected with a variety of architectural forms. They also build multi-storey buildings and whole villages of townhouses.

They make mobile buildings, pavilions that can be transported for installation as an office building or a store.

Foam panels with mesh are produced in production on automatic lines. It will not be possible to make them handicraftly for the reason that the surface of the foam has a ribbed shape. Made to make the wall more stable after concrete application (ribs give rigidity to the structure).

But for our strict building codes, most likely in this technology, you need to make monolithic columns. Although, buildings according to the Emmedue system are being built even in earthquake-prone regions.

Along the cut of the wall, this technology is somewhat reminiscent of our heat block. Where there is also concrete on both sides, and inside there is a layer of foam. Only in our conditions, these are just wall blocks.

In terms of thermal resistance, such walls are not inferior to heat blocks, i.e. the technology can also be applied in harsh climatic conditions with high negative temperatures. And also the walls will keep the rooms cool in hot climates.

The disadvantages of the technology are that the structure cannot be mounted in a strong wind, and when it appears, gusts of wind can deform the case made of slabs. Those. installation should be done in a matter of days in case of stable calm weather. Still have questions about installing windows

But the foam layers were made double, and concrete was poured inside between them. We can say that the foam here acted as a permanent formwork and insulation. According to this technology, the internal concrete of the structure does not participate as a heat accumulator.

While studying this technology, I liked the idea of ​​erecting monolithic stairs.

Pre-manufactured foam spans are exhibited, props are installed, everything is reinforced, the inner ribs are poured with concrete, and a layer of concrete is also applied on top. Minimum formwork, everything is done in 1-2 days. In most cases, a tree is then mounted on the steps anyway, so it is not possible to push through the foam layer.

I think this technology will be interesting not so much for the construction of houses (available for construction organizations), but for the construction of garages and pavilions. Blocks, wood, metal rose in price by 1.5-2 times. And concrete and foam are not so strong and the technology can occupy its market among the offers of prefabricated buildings.
