IEA urges to triple the cost of saving the planet and switching to green energy by 2030
The International Energy Agency (IEA) issued a statement that the investment flow in the so-called green energy should be increased by at least three times by 2030. This is necessary in order to effectively resist global climate change, as well as confidently control the situation on the world energy markets.
Green energy needs more money
So, according to the published annual report of the IEA, the rise in global temperature will exceed 1.5 degrees Celsius in comparison with the so-called pre-industrial level.
And according to the data provided in the report, world governments are investing very little money in order to to meet the ever-increasing energy consumption, but the costs of the so-called transition period are also grow.
Also, representatives of the IEA argue that only a sharp and almost immediate reduction in greenhouse gas emissions gases, as well as the transition to clean energy is the only option to avoid a climate catastrophe in the future.
According to statistics, in the past 2020, coal, gas, as well as oil accounted for about 80% of the total global energy supply, while green sources only accounted for 12%.
So if the financing of new types of energy is frozen at the current level, then, according to scientists' forecasts, by 2100 the global temperature will increase by 2.6 degrees Celsius.
This can lead to difficult-to-predict climate change, and future generations may face serious difficulties, as there will be an order of magnitude more climate shocks than now.
Of course, each of us has already noted that there are more natural disasters around the world and something really needs to be done about it. Just how much will the sharp increase in investment in "green" projects help, the question is at least quite controversial.
Do you personally think that green energy will save you from global climate change or is it just an attempt to increase subsidies (and hence the salaries of scientists involved in new projects)?
