Israeli engineers develop automatic drones to clean solar panels located in hard-to-reach areas
Now it is quite difficult to surprise anyone with robotic vacuum cleaners, but cleaning technologies are developing continuously.
Solar panels convert the sun's rays into electricity quite efficiently. But the accumulation of dust, dirt and other debris on the panels greatly reduces their effectiveness, which means that they must be constantly cleaned. In order to clean the panels located in hard-to-reach areas, the engineers decided to develop specialized drones.
Who develops cleaning drones
The development of such systems was undertaken by the Israeli company Solar Drone, together with the developer and manufacturer of drones Airobotics.
So, as planned by the developers, the cleaning drones will be stored in special docking stations, which will be placed near solar farms.
At regular intervals, the drones will fly around the solar farm and, if necessary, treat each panel with special cleaning solutions. Also, empty tanks with washer fluid will be replaced in automatic mode.
According to the developers, their system will be at least 25% more economical compared to other similar solar panel cleaning systems.
In addition, the developed UAV systems will not in any way touch the surfaces of the panels, which means that the option of their damage is reduced to an absolute minimum. When such drones will begin their work, the company has not reported.
Well, the future has already arrived, and soon drones will perform more and more diverse tasks.
