What furniture of the times of the USSR is high time to get rid of, so as not to frighten the guests
During the holidays, we managed to visit our parents and many relatives. And more mature, and young. And most of them saw old Soviet furniture. No, this is not the original antiques that add "flavor". These are things that litter houses and spoil the interior. And after all, most people (and even my parents) do not change this furniture, not because of lack of funds or lack of taste. But because it's a pity.
But to make the interior look modern, it is not customary to force it with furniture. And furniture can now be bought at an affordable price.
What furniture is time to give up, because we live in the 21st century?
1. Furniture wall
In the 70s, such walls were quite difficult to get. They were a kind of symbol of luxury. Everyone dreamed about them and put them into their homes at the first opportunity. But the time has come to get rid of them long ago. The absence of a wall adds space. And for storing things, you can make a spacious dressing room.
2. Soviet sofa (or ottoman) and thin-legged armchairs
Sofas and armchairs are aging. The upholstery is starting to look old-fashioned. The legs are loose. Mattresses and seats fail. Why leave these shabby things when you can replace them with new stylish and beautiful ones.
Get rid of the Soviet couch and old-fashioned armchairs. And you will see how much the appearance of the room will change.
3. Sideboard or pier glass
A cumbersome grandmother's sideboard greets guests. The pier glass stands in the corridor in the most ceremonial place. Clutter up the space. Get rid of old-fashioned things.
4. Kitchen and table-book
To begin with, I will say: the Soviet Union did not make high-quality kitchen furniture. What has survived to this day looks terrible. Bloated doors, loose fittings, shabby aluminum handles. We should get rid of this long ago.
A book table is, of course, a piece of furniture that brings many memories. Family gatherings, noisy feasts. But this is something that is high time to get rid of.
5. Carpets on the walls
Carpets are no longer a luxury. And for insulation and sound insulation, it is worth using modern materials, not carpets.
Carpets are of no use. These are huge dust collectors. And that's all. Without them, rooms will look more spacious and modern.
The list can probably go on. Soviet plumbing, gas or electric stoves, chandeliers with "hanging"... All this only clutters up your homes. Think about what the sideboards and walls are filled with, and do you need all these things? Do you want to be buried in the dust of carpets and crystal chandeliers? Why do you need old-fashioned uncomfortable sofas that you bypass?
