Literally at the beginning of this year, I decided to replenish the winter arsenal of my car with bracelets anti-skid (there were problems with driving on the uncleared roads of our SNT, and I decided that it was will help).
And he did not buy a ready-made option, but decided to do everything himself.

But making bracelets is one thing, but testing in practice is quite another.
It was in the article where I described the manufacture of anti-skid bracelets that I mentioned that I would definitely write if there was an opportunity to test them. And apparently he did it ...
Literally every other day, I "sat down" not far from my house.
And not much, but he himself could not move, the wheels slipped.
It was enough to rock the car a little and I would leave (tI eat more that my wife was there, and more than once helped me with this).
But I decided to try the novelty ...
- First, putting on one bracelet for each wheel, and also slipped in one place.
- Then he was dressed one more at a time, and it seemed that the car began to break through.
- But then things only got worse.
Trying to move forward, backward, I rolled out such a track that I practically sat down on the "belly". At the same time, the chains did not improve grip on the snow, but simply plowed it up, turning it into a loose mass.
Slowly, and stepping hard, straight ahead and turning the steering wheel, I tried everything that was possible, but I could not get out. And there were moments when you break out of the old plowed track, but the car is in a new place, it starts to bury itself again.
After an hour of agony, I gave up.
He took off the bracelets, and with the help of his wife and neighbor, the car was rescued. All I have left is bewilderment.
Why, then, do they even invent and sell such devices?
And here everything turned out as in the well-known saying: "it wasn't about the bobbin ..."
I just decided to convert the snow chains into ATV chains.
Although the true purpose of these bracelets is to improve grip on slippery surfaces (for example, to climb a hill, with ice on the road).
And for loose surfaces (snow or sand), the chains work like a meat grinder.
Of course, you can try to go very slowly, but one wrong movement, and you over-accelerated, and the wheels spun, and there is no turning back.
But I will not throw away my chains.
- Firstly, after an hour of severe slipping, they remained intact (the bolts did not bend, the belts did not break). This means the design is reliable.
- Well, and secondly, maybe someday, I will have to climb a slippery hill, then we'll come off ...
In the meantime, I always drive my wife with a shovel with a failure, otherwise the neighbors are not always there to help.
