How to choose a hot tub
Arriving from a health resort, impressed and sensibly assessing the possibilities of my bathroom, I decided to install myself at home jacuzzi. But where to start and how not to make a mistake in choosing? As a person who communicates with the Internet, I first of all climbed to look for reviews and opinions of other people.
How I was inspired to buy a hot tub (Jacuzzi) and how I chose it
Used or like me for the first time encountered hot tubs. After climbing and looking at the manufacturers' websites, which describe the huge advantages of their baths and their hydromassage systems, I wondered the question is, if everything is so cool and wonderful for everyone, then why in stores the price for bathtubs of one company is radically different from another??? And at this stage, I started, as they say, from the very beginning))) With the choice of bath material. Do you know that such a material as acrylic does not exist in nature and it is simply torn out of the chemical name polymethylmethacrylate (he barely pronounced it). By its nature, this material is somewhat reminiscent of simple plastic, but more durable, chemically and thermally more stable.

By the way, there is a catch here, namely, inexpensive baths are made not from an acrylic sheet, but from the so-called sandwich sheet, that is, a layer of high-quality acrylic on top. (0.2-0.5mm) and everything else is the so-called ABC plastic... This material is much cheaper than completely sheet acrylic, but its durability is much less. As a rule, such baths cost from 5 to 20 tr. depending on the shape, size and manufacturer (meaning an empty bath without equipment). It is also possible to add marble chips to acrylic. But this is usually necessary for baths of large size and volume, hydromassage pools, this is not necessary for my bath. And there is no desire to overpay extra... In cast iron baths You can also install massage equipment. We also bring these in Perm, but they cost an order of magnitude more expensive, and I’m a little afraid that if a small error or the tie-in points will be poorly waterproofed, then the cast iron will begin to rust and the life of the bath will be quite short (and I want it to be far and for a long time). I chose the option of a bathtub made of good PMMA acrylic (I don’t indicate the company, because the article is not written for advertising purposes), it’s up to the equipment that I really need.
After talking with store consultants and looking at the manufacturers, I realized that you can put almost a beer refrigerator in the bath)))) but is it necessary?
So, everything is in order.
Hydromassage
General hydromassage
these are six or more large nozzles, with a variable inclination of the water flow with the ability to turn off each nozzle separately. It is installed in the side walls of the bath and serves for general relaxation of the body. When installing the system, you will definitely have them, since this is a must!
Back massage
Foot massage
- as a rule, two jets located opposite the back massage and working for foot massage. Some manufacturers supply these nozzles with massage hedgehogs around the perimeter, which you can crawl with your feet on.
When installing all three systems, it is recommended to install a special tap, with which you can transfer the pump pressure from one type of massage to another. Just a necessary option for families in which everyone has their own wishes and preferences in massage. Makes your bathroom more versatile and comfortable (but not too expensive).
In addition to hydromassage, other wellness and relaxing functions can be installed in the bath, namely:
Air massage
Now consider such an option as installing lighting in the bath. After all, my bath should not only treat and massage, but also please the eye!!! Having touched on this issue, I learned that the backlight can be of two types - just highlighting the water with a built-in lamp, or it can change colors and also affect the human condition. Treatment with color and light - chromotherapy. As I learned, each color affects something different, namely:
- Green - normalizes sleep, gives self-confidence, restores the nervous system.
- Red - a rather expressive color that energizes.
- Blue - simply soothes and gives a sense of peace.
- Yellow - the warmest, has a positive effect on the psyche.
Everything is fine with my self-confidence and psyche, so I don’t know yet whether to put it on or not ...
The bathtub can also be equipped with a water level sensor. They do this so that the hydromassage system does not turn on until a certain level of water in the bath is reached. One of my acquaintances does not have such a sensor installed, he often tells how a fountain of water is poured over him from the two upper dorsal nozzles. For me, there is so little pleasure from this. By the way, it is convenient for those who have children. With the sensor, you can not worry that while you are away, they will turn on the bath and the pump will not burn out when working without water. For myself, I decided that I would definitely put it.
At the expense of controlling the bathroom, I decided to put myself an electronic control panel. There are also pneumatic buttons, but I think it’s not so convenient, and I think it’s absolutely unnecessary to put a lot of buttons in a row, much a small control panel with neat buttons on it will look more aesthetically pleasing, with which I can turn on and off the ones I need functions. Also, electronic consoles are often equipped with a 15-minute shutdown timer. Extremely convenient again with children. In addition, 15 minutes of hydromassage per day is sufficient.
In conclusion, I can say this, do not chase fashion and choose a bath according to your needs. You put the repair and specifically the bath for yourself, and not for neighbors and acquaintances, and the main thing is how you will feel in it.
