How to pour self-leveling floor

Having decided to cover the floor in your apartment with linoleum or carpet, to prepare it, you just need to lay a rough screed. If you prefer laminate, parquet or 3D flooring, then their installation requires a finishing screed. Today we will tell you how to perform a screed using a bulk shelf, when the base for it is already completely ready.

Cooking Tools

To fill the floor you will need:

  • a drill with a mixer attachment;
  • a pair of needle slippers for moving around the poured floor;

  • four containers: two for mixing the solution and two with water for washing the mixer;
  • squeegee and studded roller.

Work is best done with an assistant, as the solution dries pretty quickly.

Preparing the mixture

The preparation of the mixture begins in one of the containers provided for this purpose.

Attention! During cooking, the mixture should be poured into water, and not pour water into the mixture!

Mixing the solution with a mixing nozzle should be carried out at high speed for about four minutes. After that, the mixture is left for five minutes to ripen, and then transferred to the assistant for re-kneading. At this time, it is necessary to start preparing the mixture in the second container.

Attention! The mixer must be rinsed in water after each kneading.

Pouring the mixture

The pouring of the finished mixture is carried out in strips. In order not to splatter the wall, do not pour too close to it.

Leveling

Leveling is carried out with a squeegee in such a way as to obtain the required coating thickness.

Removing bubbles

In order to remove air bubbles from the spilled mixture, it should be walked over with a spiked roller.

Filling should continue until the entire floor surface is completely covered, after which the screed must be leave for three days to dry, the exact duration of which is usually indicated by packaging.

If a thick mixture was used for pouring, and the finish should be, for example, a laminate, then it is recommended to re-fill the resulting surface using a thin mixture.
