Starship - the largest rocket in history is already ready for its first orbital flight
The successes and failures of the private space company SpaceX, which is run by the eccentric billionaire Elon Musk, are watched by almost the entire world.
And just the other day, at the cosmodrome in the village of Boca Chica (Texas, USA), the installation of the Starship spacecraft on the Super Heavy launch vehicle was completed Booster 4 with the help of a huge 140-meter tower with the sonorous name "Mehazilla", which was created specifically for maintenance Starship.
The interplanetary spacecraft is almost ready for its first launch
Last year, namely in August 2021, SpaceX engineers completely assembled the Starship rocket prototype in order to test how the ship and launch vehicle would dock. After that, the prototype of the ship was disassembled for further testing and tuning.
And now the ship has been reassembled, but now not just for tests, but for the first orbital flight in its history. By the way, this flight was supposed to take place at the end of last year, but due to the lack of permission from the local regulator, this flight was postponed.
At the moment, permission to fly has not yet been received, but the US Federal Aviation Administration this time must issue permission no later than February 28.
For what purposes is a new rocket with the Starship spacecraft being created
The rocket, made up of a Super Heavy booster and a Starship spacecraft, is being created by SpaceX specifically for interplanetary flights.
So at the initial stage it is planned to carry out the delivery of goods, as well as people to a natural satellite Earth - the Moon, and after that the ship will have to make its first manned flight to Mars. Well, there is not far off and the development of other objects of the solar system.
Well, we will look forward to the first test flight of the Starship and, no doubt, we will rejoice in success or we will worry about failure.
