On the fairly popular American portal NASASpaceFlight, which covers events in space and near space sphere, suggested that this year Russia launched an unknown satellite into orbit, which they called "Neutron".

So, according to the published material on the NASASpaceFlight.com portal, an object launched into low Earth orbit can be nothing more than a military satellite.

Americans are concerned about the development of satellites for the Russian Ministry of Defense

The published material says that the "mysterious" Russian satellite was most likely created by specialists of the NPO (Scientific and Production Association), which was engaged in the development of spacecraft series "Condor".

Condor satellites are placed in low earth orbit and are primarily designed to collect and transmit to Earth both optical and radar images.

According to the NASASpaceFlight portal, this satellite was supposed to go into orbit back in 2018, but for unknown reasons, the launch was postponed to February 2022.

Recall that on February 5, 2022, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation launched a Soyuz-2.1a rocket with a payload on board from the Russian Plesetsk cosmodrome (Arkhangelsk region). The launch took place at 10:00 Moscow time from launch pad No. 43 of launcher No. 4.

According to published information, the launch was considered successful, and what kind of cargo was launched into orbit was not specified. It is also known from open sources that the Russian Ministry of Defense has the only operating radar satellite "Kosmos-2487", which just belongs to the series "Condor". And it was launched in June 2013.

And there are no satellites of this class for civilian purposes in Russia yet.
