Multi-storey buildings have become a part of our life for a long time. Just like small houses, apartments require maintenance and cleaning not only from the inside, but also from the outside. The use of modern technologically advanced plastic windows greatly facilitates outdoor cleaning, but does not completely eliminate it, and from time to time it is necessary to clean even plastic windows with an antistatic outer coating, on which dust settles much weaker.

Wiping a window for a resident of the first floor is not a problem, as well as for a resident of the third. But on higher floors, seasonal window cleaning turns into real torture. And the fear of heights makes it difficult to clean well.

To improve the quality of cleaning the outside of plastic windows and to facilitate this process, you can use a very simple homemade device that is easy to make yourself from available materials.

To make an original brush for cleaning the outer sheet of plastic windows, you will need a piece of a small-diameter pipe 0.7 - 1 m long, cut a bar 0.4 - 0.5 m long, the cross section of which will allow you to fill the bar inside the pipe with little effort, a large clerical clip and a large sponge for utensils.

Preparing parts and making a brush

Take a bar of such thickness that you can pass it through the eye of a clerical clip and fix it there. Slightly sharpen one of the ends of the beam so that you can put a clerical clip on it, and one of its brackets can go freely, and the clip can open. When the beam is ready, put a clamp on it and fix it.

Check how well the clamp opens and, if necessary, further sharpen the edge of the timber. Leave a little less than a centimeter of the bar behind the free eye and cut off the excess edge of the tree so that it does not reduce the functionality of the device during the work.

Fill the free end of the beam into the pipe. The pipe will play the role of an extension, if necessary, the beam can be pulled out again.

Take a dishwashing sponge and fold it in half with the soft side facing out. Try to carefully match the opposite edges. Fix the folded sponge in the flaps of the clerical clip, holding its cut sides in the middle.

The resulting device can successfully perform the function of an expensive window cleaning brush.

It is best to clean windows with a dry brush in dry weather, so there will be no dirty stains on the window, and you will not have to make extra efforts to clean it after wet cleaning. As a rule, plastic windows have a coating on the outside that prevents dust and dirt from sticking to the glass surface.

A home-made device will allow you to easily reach all corners of the window leaf and give them cleanliness and shine.

To make the brush more productive, you can fold and fill the sponge along the wide side. The extension pipe will make window cleaning safer, now you won’t need to hang out of the window to wipe it, but just reach out through the window.
