I use a cheap tool, and the plastic in the cabin sparkles like new. The simplest way
Many car owners try to keep the car clean and tidy, and keep the interior the way it was when the car was bought. It doesn't always work out. Still, during operation, the material ages, scuffs appear on it, dirt sticks. A lot of complaints are caused by plastic parts that have a rough structure. Door trim and especially plastic thresholds are quickly overwritten. No matter how you wipe the plastic surfaces, the micropores become clogged with dust, which loses its glossy shine. The color takes on a grey-whitish tint.
How to maintain the plastic in the cabin in the proper form?
The chemical industry produces a lot of detergents, including those for car care. I want to offer you 2 simple and very cheap ways.
Method one
Washing plastic panels with ordinary laundry soap. To work, you will need soap, water, a sponge and a brush.
The sponge absorbs water well. Therefore, first, a well-moistened sponge is lathered with soap and rubbed over the surface of the plastic. Then, with a brush of medium hardness with thin bristles, also previously soaped, they begin to clean the surface of the torpedo. By the way, in this way you can clean any plastic and even leather surfaces in the cabin. After you have cleaned the entire surface with a brush, you can use the same sponge, but without soap, to wash the torpedo from the remaining foam and remove the liquid. At the same time, the water must be clean at all times. Finally, wipe the surface with a dry microfiber cloth.
Caution: Be especially careful when washing in the area where electrical and electronic appliances are located. Make sure that water does not get inside.
Method two
This method is a little more difficult. But they can clean not only plastic, but also fabric, leather on the seats. To work, you will need 2 half-liter spray bottles, a pack of citric acid, some dish detergent, baking soda, water. In the first bottle filled with water, pour 5 tablespoons of citric acid and 2 tablespoons of dishwashing detergent.
In the second bottle, also filled with water, add 5 tablespoons of soda. First, a solution with soda is applied to the surface of the plastic, and then a solution with citric acid is sprayed on top. As a result, a chemical reaction occurs with the formation of abundant foam, which draws dirt from the deepest layers. For greater effectiveness, you can go over this mixture with a brush and then wipe everything with a damp sponge, or rinse with clean water to remove chemical residues and dirt.
How to get rid of scratches?
On a clean plastic surface, scuffs and scratches become especially noticeable. And of course, I want to get rid of them and make them less noticeable. I warn you right now. The method that I will discuss below will require skill and some experience on your part. Therefore, before experimenting on your own car, practice on some unnecessary part. Plastic panels can be found at disassembly or car dumps.
Probably every car owner has a building hair dryer. Here it is required in order to get rid of scratches. The essence of the method is simple. By heating the plastic surface, you melt it, causing the scratch to melt and disappear.
Minor scratches and abrasions disappear completely, deep ones become less noticeable. Do not try to remove deep scratches completely. You risk ruining the plastic. At best, whitish spots will appear on it, at worst, it will soften and warp. That's why I advise you to practice on some plastic junk so that you learn to feel it and not overheat during processing.
By the way, for small scratches, you can use a regular lighter. This is where maximum caution is required.
