A candle that can make you involuntarily exclaim "Wow"! 6 good examples
With the invention of the electric light bulb, candles seemed to have disappeared into oblivion. But no! They have been transformed, and from an outdated lighting fixture they have turned into a stylish decorative element that can give any home comfort and warmth.
Good afternoon dear friends!
Of course, I'm not talking about those boring white candles that are in the far drawer just in case of a "fire" case. And about those original elements, koi are lit on special occasions when they want to rest and relax, create a truly romantic atmosphere or decorate the interior in an interesting and extremely unusual way. That is, about decorative candles that have an intoxicating aroma and look somewhat reminiscent of a piece of modern art.
The only thing left is to make them with your own hands. And it turns out it's not that hard. And to prove this fact to you, as well as share some simple recipes for making original candles, I prepared this material.
So let's start with what you need. Namely: ordinary household candles or candle stubs, wooden sticks (for ice cream or sushi), a hairdryer, a glue gun, spoons, a silicone mat, a spatula and various decorative ingredients. And now the subtleties!
1.Twisted candles. A twisted candle only seems difficult to manufacture. But it's actually super easy! To do this, take an ordinary long straight candle and heat its middle part with a hairdryer (you should not do this with an open flame) so that the paraffin becomes soft. Then roll out this section a little, making it flatter, and carefully twist the upper part around its axis, twisting the spiral. Then lower the candle into a container of cold water. And, in fact, everything!
Now you just have to put the candle in the candlestick and light it.
2.Multicolored candles. Do your friends have colored candle ends at home? Amazing. Ask them not to throw away the leftovers, but to give them to you to make colorful candles. To do this, you will need to melt each cinder in a separate bowl. And then lower the bottom edge of the white candle into one container. Take it out, let it dry. And then lower the top edge into the second bowl. Take it out again and let it dry. That's it - the tricolor candle is ready.
By the way, the cycle can be repeated several times. This will allow you to create a blurry watercolor outline.
3.Dried flower candles. Do you know that boring white candles can be diversified with dry flowers? Not! But it turns out you can. It can be either individual miniature plants (for example, buttercups, lungwort), or a set of different leaves and petals. All harvested plant material must be dried well between the pages of a large, heavy volume before use. So they will become flat, and it will be convenient to mount them on the surface of the paraffin. Plants are glued with a spoon, it will need to be warmed up, leaned against the side and wait for softening. The petals are also well attached to liquid paraffin.
At the end, in order to securely fix the decor, the candle can be lowered once into the melted candle base. And so everything.
4.Non-standard candles. Another option for turning an ordinary candle into something interesting, special! To do this, just dip it into boiling water, pull it out and, while it is warm, bend the candle into the shape you need. Then quickly cool in cold water. This method is good because you do not need a candlestick to install this candle. For it will be able to stand exactly due to its configuration.
One tip: use long candles. This will allow you to play with them, giving them many interesting and varied shapes.
5.Esoteric candles. For lovers of astrology and esotericism, this idea may seem extremely interesting. So, to create an atmospheric decor, they will need to prepare ordinary white thick candles and natural stones. There are two ways to act here. First, cast the candle again with the addition of stones. Second, soften the paraffin with a hairdryer and “press” small pebbles into the side surface.
As for the stones! The main thing is that they are real. Plastic cannot be used.
6.Aroma candles. Now you will not surprise anyone with industrial scented candles. But completely homemade. So, in order to make them, you will need eucalyptus leaves, a glue gun and a piece of twine. And now you take the middle part of each leaf, stick it on the entire side surface of the candle with a gun, and then tie a “decorative cord” around it. Everything can be lit!
Such a candle, mounted on a shelf, will be a cool decorative touch in both bohemian and eco-friendly interiors.
