How to feed tomatoes in July for pouring fruits, how to care

In early July, fruits are tied on the brushes of tomatoes. On tall bushes by this time you can count up to 5-7 brushes. On the first brushes, the first fruits begin to turn brown. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to pouring tomatoes and trimming the lower leaves, because the green mass of the plant has already grown sufficiently by July.

What does pruning leaves

Pruning the lower leaves improves greenhouse ventilation, reduces the growth and development of pathogens, and promotes a greater outflow of nutrients into the fruit, and not into the green mass. I cut off the first three leaves from the ground while removing the stepchildren, then I remove the leaves under the first brush when the fruits are formed to the maximum possible size. Next, I remove the leaves as the next brushes form.

Watering

In the heat, I water the tomato bushes in the greenhouse daily, on warm days - 2-3 times a week. During the pouring of fruits, tomatoes require more moisture than during periods of flowering and a set of green mass. If the bushes do not have enough moisture, the leaves give a signal about this and begin to curl. But you can also pour the plants, then the ripe fruits will begin to crack. Therefore, everything is in moderation. I try to choose for sowing varieties of tomatoes that are resistant to cracking.

Feeding and protection

In order for the fruits to be large, sweet and quickly poured, it is necessary to feed them. I do not forget about biological protection, I spray it with biofungicides based on hay sticks.

Fruit filling requires potassium and calcium in the first place. The first three brushes are tied normally, but for subsequent brushes, for their good development, you need to help the plant, give
food.

During the flowering and fruiting period, I treat the plants with a solution of boric acid at the rate of 2 grams of the substance per 5 liters. Another good fertilizer for tomatoes is potassium monophosphate. They can be fed under the root and on the leaf. For spraying, it is enough to take 20 grams of fertilizer and dissolve in 10 liters of water, or at the rate of 2 grams per plant. Potassium monophosphate will replace ash. It will require 1 cup per 10 liters of water. The solution must be kept for a day and then poured from a watering can under the root.

I use dolomite flour as a top dressing in the form of calcium. You need 2-3 tbsp. extinguish spoons of the substance with table vinegar in the amount of 1 cup and then pour into a bucket of water for 10 liters. Next, you need to water the plants under the root at the rate of 1 liter per bush.

I already refuse calcium nitrate during the fruiting period (I use it during the flowering period from the appearance blossom end rot on fruits) because this dressing contains nitrogen, which affects the growth of leaves and stems, and not fruits. All these top dressings are enough for me to get a good crop of tomatoes.
