After taking a hot bath or shower, perspiration or condensation forms on the mirrors. This phenomenon is inevitable, but very unpleasant. Especially when it is necessary to urgently shave a man, or make up a woman. Even if you wipe the mirror with a dry towel, it does not always become as clean as it needs to be. Certain divorces remain, which is very disturbing.

Is it possible to get rid of this problem and what needs to be done?

The main reason why condensation forms on the mirror is known to us from school physics lessons. When hot water is turned on, the cold surface of the mirror meets moist and warm air. Naturally, the steam needs to settle somewhere, and the easiest option is on a cold surface. Therefore, steam is formed.

It is impossible to increase the temperature of the surface of the mirror (however, as well as the walls, on which steam is also formed). The only option left is to cover them with something that repels liquid.

Hair shampoo experiment

Take a drop of regular shampoo, put it on the sponge. In order for the experiment to be seen better, I will cover only half of the mirror with shampoo, diagonally. Apply a thin layer, rub in thoroughly so that there are no streaks left. We wait until the mirror is completely dry and only after that we take a bath or shower.

You can wipe the mirror not with a sponge, but with a paper towel or a dry cotton cloth. The effect will be the same.

Result

As you can see, the hair shampoo really helped. In the lower part, where it was smeared with a thin layer, no condensation formed. But the upper, raw triangle is completely covered with steam.

There are other tools that can be used for surface treatment. They can be purchased at specialized stores, or made independently from available funds. Shaving foam, laundry or toilet soap, toothpaste, table vinegar, gelatin solution are most often used as folk methods. Even ordinary vegetable oil will help repel water and steam after taking a bath.

But in any case, after you have washed, you need to wash off everything that you applied earlier from the surface. Ventilate the room well, wait until everything around is dry, and the air is no longer humid. After that, you can apply the product you like again and by the next shower you will again get a very clean result on the surface of the mirror. In some cases, the water-repellent ability of the product acts 2-3 times.
