How to clean a frying pan from old fat and soot.
Sep 08, 2022
Many have preserved frying pans from Soviet times in their homes. People continue to use them, and this desire is quite understandable, since these dishes are really of good quality.
The only downside to old cast iron pans is old fat on the surface. But you can get rid of this problem too. The most important thing is to know how.
Efficient cleaning technique
Before proceeding with the main process, it is recommended to remove the handle from the pan. Of course, this can only be done if it is removable. If this is not possible, you will have to clean the whole thing.
you should also prepare a capacious pan.
The container should hold about 5 liters of water, and still have some free space. Next, you need to follow these steps in sequence:
It is necessary to prepare cleaning components: baking soda, mustard powder and stationery (can be replaced with silicate) glue 100 g each.
Pour 5 liters of water into a saucepan, put on fire and bring to a boil.
Consistently dissolve the components: soda, glue, powder. And mix everything thoroughly.
Now you need to reduce the heat a little, lower the pan into the pan for about 60 minutes.
After the specified time has passed, the pan must be carefully removed, allowed to cool slightly and scraped off the softened soot. To improve the result in the process, it is permissible to use a knife or a metal washcloth.
The finishing touch - the pan needs to be cleaned again with mustard powder with the addition of dishwashing detergent.
After the manipulations done, even old pans will shine like new. In order to prevent new fat from accumulating in too large quantities, it is recommended to use this cleaning method at least 2-3 times a year.
