Personal experience of building a two-story house, from foundation to roof

Our subscriber Alex tells us about his personal experiences, he started the construction of two-storey house near Orenburg, in the village of Kuznechny.

Good day, my name is Alex. In May 2017 I bought a piece of land in 6 acres near Orenburg, in the village of Kuznechny. It was a bare piece of land without a fence, planting, communications. I bought the land for a symbolic fee of 200, 000 and in the same year he began to plan the construction of a house 2 floors, but finances have been just enough to put a fence around the perimeter of land profiled sheet.

The construction I was ready only in the spring of 2018, at this point determined the site layout of the home and communications. Most of the works planned to carry out on their own, occasionally resorting to the construction companies and the hard workers who want to earn some money informally.

The starting point - pouring the foundation. As already mentioned above, planned to build a house on 2 floors, on the perimeter - 8 to 10 meters. The decision was made in favor of a continuous footing. I made a trench at the bottom of which poured a pillow of sand and gravel, hard-packed. The work carried out on their own for 2 days.

Next went to the construction of the formwork. The best option for me was the wooden formwork, which is rigidly fixed to the wall of the trench struts. Concrete is poured, so that the valve was completely flooded. At this stage it is very important for the laying of communications in the formwork of the future lay the foundation stub.

My personal advice - when pouring the concrete foundation for the expedient use of cement with coarse sand or gravel as fine sand in the composition significantly reduces the strength of the foundation.

In total, the foundation pouring it took me about 3 weeks time, because he could do it only in their spare time, and the amount of 150 000 rubles.

The most difficult stage - the construction of the walls. To perform this work, I hired a construction company workers, as neither the skills nor the equipment works like I did not have. Controlled phased implementation of works and paid by check all the costs incurred.

Masonry cinder blocks have been selected, they are very popular because of its physical properties, performance characteristics, in addition, it is very economical. At this stage it is very important especially carefully laid blocks of the first row, as they provide further precision and accuracy of laying the remaining fragments of the walls. On the construction of the walls it took about 3-4 weeks, and 600,000 rubles (amount includes payment of materials, rent equipment, hired labor).

erection of roof. By this stage I was able to start in the spring of 2019, again deployed forces outside organizations. By the choice of artists I approached with great delicacy, as the roof of the house - this is a very complicated and loaded with construction on the state of safety of operation of the building depends. From life experience I know there are many cases when the roof to leak, and even its partial destruction. The design must support the weight of roofing material, snow and other precipitation and strong winds that are characteristic of Orenburg.

After consultation with experts, my choice fell on a gable roof, as this form is universal and suitable for any kind of construction. The installation frame workers began on May 10 and 20th days of the work was done completely.

Total roof taking into account the acquisition of materials, machinery orders and payment to employees cost me 300,000 rubles.
