How to create a flower summer in winter

click fraud protection

In autumn the main task of every gardener becomes shelter and protection of color from winter frosts. To create a real summer in freezing temperatures for plants, follow three simple steps. After that, your colors, even the most fierce frost will transcend!

1. top-dressing

To successfully wintered flowers, they need phosphorus and potassium. Many growers buried under bushes banana skin, because the fruit is saturated with many useful trace elements.

In addition, potassium and phosphorus increase the resistance of colors to disease and promote the growth of young shoots of wood. Manure as fertilizer before cooling should be avoided because it contained a large amount of nitrogen.

This can enhance the growth of new shoots that are highly undesirable before frosts.

2. pruning

To speed things up for the winter shelter flowers, cut them, especially if they have reached a height of one and a half to two meters. Do not forget to specify the day of pruning according to the lunar calendar.

The most favorable period is the waning moon. Remove the leaves on the flowers and carefully dug up the earth with pitchforks, not to harm the root system.

The longest shoots undermined only one side to the bush could "go" on the ground. Pour the roots dry soil and form from it a small mound.

3. wrap

In severe frosts plants can hide under a cut of naturally occurring tissue. It allows them to breathe and prevents fogging buds. Then it is necessary to wrap flower wrap and multiple layers of air-pupyrchatoy film.

To fix this rickety structure, it should be covered with sackcloth, which will protect it from snow, rain and piercing wind.

Alternatively, one can construct a frame around the flower bushes in the form of a pyramid or of a cube and impose its polyethylene, cardboard, insulating paper, old newspapers, straw.

To further adjust the color hiding organic raw material - dried grass and coniferous branches from ten centimeters thick, i.e. spruce branches.

If you are using spruce and pine branches, do not take those that are visible yellowing branches and / or dried needles. Otherwise you risk to bring to the area an alien infection.

And it should be remembered that the use of lapnika well only in mild winters. And do not worry about the lack of warming: the main material for the cover of your flowers will always snow.
