Inside the case there are two coils, one current - wound thick copper wire, the section of which corresponds to the nominal current counter (incorporated in series) and the other coil voltage (circuit connected in parallel), it is made thin copper wire.

Moreover, these two coils are arranged with respect to themselves at an angle of 90 degrees.

In the region between the two coils is aluminum disk, retained by the aforesaid bearing in its upper part and the lower thrust bearing.

In the represented axis of the disk worm gear is present, it has a connection via cogwheels with digital drum.

When the counter is enabled in the operating circuit, it flows through the coil and its current and voltage. As a result, the gap formed .phi.i magnetic fluxes of the coil current and the coil voltage Fu, and they are respectively formed cause eddy currents in the aluminum disk.

The interaction of the eddy currents and magnetic fluxes generated torque, and causes the aforesaid spinning disk. Thus starts the process of counting consumed kilowatt-hours. And the more the load current, the more energetically spinning disk.

Note. Algorithm functioning three-phase induction meter is identical with the principle of operation discussed above single-phase meters.

How does an electronic metering device
