Walk-in closet, and no cabinets

Virtually every "Khrushchev" apartment has a kind of small room. Someone calls her pantry, someone "Teschin". Such a tiny living area, there are in our one-bedroom apartment. The entrance is located from the center of the room.

What to do?

Bought our apartment on the secondary housing market require not only cosmetic, but major repairs. Widespread alignment of walls, complete replacement of wiring, re-planning of the demolition of the walls and foundation of new ones, etc. Many questions were raised with the same "Teschin" room. Leave her bedroom, or increase by 2 square meters? If you save an isolated, used as a dressing room or closet?

The first version was the next. Completely close the former entrance to the bedroom from the living room and in the wall separating the bedroom and "Teschin" room to make a wide arch. Then we got out of the living room would be first in some separated from the bedroom area. There could put a small computer desk or dressing table with mirror.

Another option is to make the room a dressing room, we liked.

So we solved several problems:

• getting rid of the need to purchase and placement in small rooms bulky cabinets for storing clothes;
• Avoid complex work associated with the demolition of the walls;
• received a single ample room to store all the things that allows you to keep the apartment at any time in perfect order with no clothes scattered where horrible.

Due to the fact that we kept the entrance to the dressing room from the living room (but did not make it from the bedroom), there is another plus. Inside the dressing room is enough space in order to close and change, and thanks to the door with a mirror without leaving "whirl" and choose the appropriate attire.

Roomy "closet"

The walls in the dressing room are lined, plastered and painted in peach color. Wallpaper, we did not stick because of the inconvenience of replacing them ('d have to unscrew or glue "pieces" between shelves). The ceiling also decided to plaster and painted white. one down light used for illumination, it is enough.

From all sorts of doors and cabinets inside the dressing room, we immediately refused. We decided to open shelves, giving greater spatial freedom.

All necessary materials are bought in person at the store. The windows we have something to look out for and buy more, but from something refused. We collected and screwed everything themselves, with the help of a specialist familiar with the correct tool. The result was very good.

In the center is the bar for hangers and wide shelf top and bottom, which store linens, towels and boxes of things.

To the right of the entrance a few shelves for storing everyday wear.

Beneath these shelves are located bryuchnitsa and two pull-out baskets for underwear and hosiery.

The left wall is practically free. It has 6 hooks used to quickly hang a towel, robe or something else.

In the dressing room as there was a place where we have placed a hanger for bags.

Now this dressing allows us to keep all the things for a family of three. In addition there is sufficient space on the shelves.
