Marine and conventional containers are rightfully increased attention samostroyschikov. Someone uses them instead of vandal-proof huts for storing building materials and tools. Someone goes even further - constructing of a real home containers.

In connection with this interesting idea of two French - Guillaume brothers and Gonzaka, who proposed to grow vegetables in sea containers.

Guillaume:
My brother and I spent all my life on the farm - grown vegetables. We see that every year the quality of products falls, and prices are rising. We know the "farming," from the inside, we understand that this is due to the worldwide globalization, pollution, high transportation costs and a reduction in fertile land. Thought, we decided to try to partly solve this problem and provide citizens with fresh strawberries and cheap.

Our portal has already told how to solve the problem of shortage of fresh vegetables in Japan, which built underground hydroponic farmAnd the American innovative approach - the future of farming - robot gardener. The French went less costly way.

Realizing that the price of the same strawberry laid down transportation costs, damage to goods when delivered from manufacturers to the city and cheat retail chains, the brothers decided to grow it directly to the place. For this purpose they turned marine container area of about 30 sq. m, in the analog portion, allotted under strawberries, 40 ares.

The container mounted a plurality of vertical-block beds (to increase the useful area) where strawberries grown. Also, the container is equipped with a drip irrigation system, artificial lighting lamps and feeders environmentally friendly nutrients.

Guillaume:
Using modern technology, we were able to significantly speed up all processes strawberry growth. We grow strawberries all year round, regardless of weather conditions. We can deliver fresh product almost to the table with minimal transportation costs.

Using "smart" automation, the French have reduced the costs to a minimum. Water for watering plants strictly dosed and fed directly to the roots. Also, when equal strawberry formulation, the area under the "steel" farm incomparably less than in conventional growing conditions.

According to the brothers, with time built in the city hundreds of mobile farms that will provide residents of cities with fresh products. Or the citizens themselves will be able to grow vegetables for 1-2 families, using a mini-farm, installed on the roofs of high-rise buildings or mounted on walls of buildings - the so-called vertical gardens.

Guillaume:
We managed to reduce product losses almost to zero because from the moment of harvest to feed strawberries to the table has been very little time. Accordingly: the price of the product we put lower than in stores. In addition, we will ensure that we grow strawberries without GMOs and the use of pesticides. I hope that over time such a concept finds wide application in urban areas.

Break in the idea, the French received a grant for its development, and is now planning to build about 75 container trusses, which according to calculations, will give the crop a few tens of tons of strawberries.
