A place to live (part 2)
So we became the happy owners of dilapidated walls and a piece of land in the Krasnodar region. Long stay in the euphoria did not give the condition of our property. We had to roll up our sleeves and get to work.
The most difficult was the way to clean the house. Two weeks of struggle with vines and wild undergrowth gave the deserved result. The house can be approached without fear or even care to enter it.
Looking around and sorting out our desires, it was decided to increase the area of the house. And should begin with the demolition of the porch. During a hurricane on it fell the old tree, after which it began to represent an object of increased danger.
Well, break - not to build. Sledgehammer, crowbar, shovel, plus rough masculine strength for two days have left a trace of a brick extension.
In order to save all construction waste was sorted. Part of it went to the dumping driveway at a location nearby.
The second part was recyclable. The rest of the whole brick was cleaned from cement and stockpiled on pallets. Cleaning tools were the ax and chisel. Labor costs have gone this inhumane, but the savings really warmed the heart.
Empirically determine the status of the local soil: clay loam with a high level of groundwater. The foundation was poured belt. Under ribbon paved drainage pipe for drainage. With waterproofing were not long fooling. Just bought a high-density polyethylene film. To be safe, it is lined with two layers. Staple gun is securely fastened to the shuttering film. Reinforcement was used metal fittings 10 mm in two rows. No cracks, no cleaning the groundwater has not yet been observed.
Formwork was removed after two weeks. It began masonry plinth. Here's the handy bricks left over from the demolition of the porch. It lasted almost the entire basement. Between the concrete and brick tape was laid waterproofing layer.
But in this way, we left a foundation for 3 weeks. During this time, we had to decide what to do from the wall, and what roofing material used.
His story to share with us our reader Svetlana Putintseva. To be continued - this house was turned into a modern building.
