As we have discovered liquid wallpaper
Having bought a new apartment with a complex layout, we are faced with the choice of material for the walls in the lobby.
Wallpaper? Right there. A lot of doorways, and even arch, dividing the hall into two adjacent rooms! Just thinking about how to have to cut intricate shapes and holes for switches and sockets, attach these pieces, a customized pattern, became ill. But still remembered the corners wallpapered arches with friends - always ragged accidental, but inevitable contacts scurrying to and fro households. Absolutely not.
Then, maybe, decorative plaster, painting? Too, is not it. Immediately pop up in front of office premises eyes, or worse, hospital walls ...
And then we ran into one of the sites on the description of liquid wallpaper. In truth, I've seen this a finishing material on the walls in the apartment that we rented on vacation. I really liked: soft, "wool" surface provides the comfort of home; homogeneous surface without joints; even the sounds heard in these walls softer. But I was sure that with their own hands to create such a miracle is not, and the price tag seemed to be exorbitant.
And yet, having studied the video with a master class for applying liquid wallpaper and familiarized with the price of the material and its flow rate, my husband and I decided to experiment.
Preparing walls do not take a lot of time and effort. A thin layer of putty, primer - and the wall is ready for liquid wallpaper. Except for the mixture (liquid wallpaper), almost nothing had to buy: a plastic bowl for the preparation of the composition applied to the walls, and a couple of spatulas for applying wallpaper on the wall.
A little about the mix. Liquid wallpaper sold in virtually weightless plastic bags. The mixture is mixed with finely chopped silk or cotton thread, some more fibers (such as, cellulose), dry wallpaper paste and every decorative additives (spangles, mica, and even large scraps lumps filaments). Chic makeup! No harmful components.
When it all appears on the walls and dries, it seems that the room wrapped in a soft blanket. In addition, liquid wallpaper have more heat and noise insulation. A nice bonus!
Let's go back to the application of wallpaper on the wall. I will not describe the technique. Let me just say that, in my opinion, this is elementary. I had the pleasure of working with this material. The mixture should be poured into a basin and diluted with plain water tap. I stir the composition of hands that are very fascinated me - such a nice touch "jelly" absolutely harmless to the skin of hands. Apply the mixture on the wall is also very exciting. And most importantly - have the right to make a mistake, it's not dried mixture is very easily removed with a spatula from the wall and sent back into the bowl!
When the liquid had dried wallpaper on the wall forms a soft smooth "crust" touch which is a pleasure.
And another plus: if the wallpaper zatrutsya soil or in a certain place (around the switch near the front door), then there is no need for high-grade expensive repair - spoiled sufficiently wet place, remove dirty layer spatula and put in its place a new composition. To do this, you need to have a "reserve" a small bag of liquid wallpaper left over after repairs.
