The walls of the GSP. Probably the best alternative to drywall ...

Everyone who has ever struggled with the need to carry out repair work, sooner or later the question arises - what is better to close the wall for finishing? Some choose a standard plastering and putty, others opt for drywall or gypsum fiber board, but in our opinion, to date, it is probably the best alternative to all of the above - walls GSP.

What it is? SHG - gipsostruzhechnaya plate (not to be confused with the new designation gypsum board in accordance with the new standard). SHG completely different material, and at least it includes the basic components present in the drywall. To make it more clear, it is necessary to explain in more detail:

• Gypsum plasterboard is "core", lined on both sides with a special cardboard.
• gipsostruzhechnaya plate - reinforced material, in which the composition of gypsum and chips. It is somewhat similar to gypsum fiber board, but the surface is almost perfectly smooth, and much stronger. Much stronger and GCR and gypsum fiber board.

We used the GPS in the finishing of multiple objects, and have come here to some conclusions:

1. strength - GSP is much better than drywall. If oblitsevat GSP, 12.5 mm wall thickness in a single layer, the hand such a wall is not exactly punch;
2. density - GSP density is several times higher. In most cases there is no need for installation of inserts, in places where it is planned something to hang on the wall. GSP sheet holding screw on "hurray";
3. stiffness - also in times above the drywall, so do not be a crackdown on curved surfaces, and direct - only in the way;
4. for noise insulation - is also higher than that of the GCR, but exact figures are not measured;
5. by weight characteristics - much heavier sheets of drywall. One sheet is not exactly to rest and certainly not to mount. Mounted on the ceiling - for fans of hardcore;
6. in processing - only to cut a circular saw. Hacksaw takes a hard, knife - generally not an option. When you cut - many pylischa;
7. to install - draft sheets can be at least two, mount, too. Very heavy. Edge when the screws are screwed, do not crumble or break down, as in the GCR;
8. a post-treatment - before finishing only need to seal the joints, and then - the wall looks almost perfect;
9. the cost - a little more expensive than drywall, but it's worth it;
10. for moisture resistance - have sheets, including moisture-proof;
11. on application - can be used as decoration for the walls, partitions and floor (there are special sheets for the floor). For curved surfaces and ceilings - is not an option.
