Usually this infection fungal disease occurs more during the growth of onion on beds. Fungus-pathogen can be quite long in the follicle without causing it harm. But after we put the bulb in the storage fungus starts to develop actively.

At this time, the tip of the bulb begins to soften, if on it to press, it remains clearly visible dent. Usually bulb rots completely for 2 months and this is accompanied by an unpleasant odor. And the worst thing is that the fungus can easily spill over to other bulbs, thereby spoiling you a lot of harvest.

Has it ever happened to you is that you take a large onion, clean it, cut in half and find that the core of the bulbs start to rot (maybe not as much as in the photo)?

If yes, then your bulb has been infected by a bacterial rot. Unlike botrytis infection starts from within, so it is even more difficult to determine, since seemingly onion solid and healthy.

Again two months is enough to almost entirely rotted onion (as in the photo), and then she had already softened the cervix, and on it will go bad smell.
