Compound audio tenon groove cutter. Frame for facades

This connection for facades and other frame constructions I used in several of his projects. It is simple and reliable. And this link can make a mill.

I used disk cutters 7 mm thick and 40 mm in diameter.

This cutter is useful for 18-21 mm thick frames. First, the cutter is placed at a height so as to be in the middle of the thickness of the workpiece. I took workpiece thickness of 20 mm and a milling cutter set at 6 mm from the table to the bottom.

For this work on the details, it is desirable to put the front of the label and make milling "face" down, then in the assembly of the items will be joined in the same plane.

The first is a groove for insertion of panels along the entire length of the preform. The depth of this groove I usually do 5-6 mm.

Transverse part I did of wide workpieces, and then sawed. And the photo shows that the spike has already been made... I made a mistake and did not do the right groove, so gradually completed it after milling spike.

After the "long" groove I pushed the focus as much as possible - until the ruler pressed against the fence, do not put her in the cutter shank. For this milling cutter depth is obtained (40-8) / 2 = 16 mm. Transverse workpiece are calculated based on these dimensions, i.e. 32 mm plus the size between the struts.

Further, the grooves are made on the racks. Tags on the racks are placed on crossmembers width. Detail is brought on to the label cutter center and is discharged to the side, and at the other end of the milling begins on the label - the label of the item is put in the middle of the cutter, and further extends to the end.

After this adjustment is made for cutting the spike. Milling depth remains the same. First, I put up a mill so that its lower part is flush with the slot.

Further to this setting milled part of the pin on the lateral parts.

Then the cutter is lowered to the upper part of it coincides with the groove.

And the second part is milled tenon.

When the parts are milled one side down, the connection is obtained even on a plane. And I do not overturned for manufacturing the stud detail, and lowered the cutter because the cutter does not divide evenly into three blank pieces.

After fabrication of studs and grooves, cross members, I sawed into desired size.

The assembly is the connection looks like.

It obtained a simple and reliable connection for furniture front frame and similar structures.
