Sawing large labels (words) on the jig machine
When sawing labels (words) in length more than 40 cm on the jig machine has these complications:
1. When rotating the preform can rest on the base frame, as the distance from the saw blade to the frame at many machines little more than 40 cm. Therefore, some of the elements not turn to saw in a single pass.
2. Dimensions of the table jig machine small, which is why a large workpiece is almost always necessary to adhere to the second hand, so that it is not bent (especially when sawing edge portions). For example, the section diameter Jet Jigsaw machine only 25 cm.
But despite these nuances on the jig machine can cut out a long inscription.
For cutting large pieces I made the table out of the door of the old cabinets, which can be easy to put and remove.
Consider cutting out large pieces on the example of the inscriptions with the family name length of 50 cm. Omit the preparatory steps (creating and applying a plywood template) you can see them in the previous article "Cutting out words from plywood"Where I showed manufacturing process of small labels (words). About fonts that I use for the production of words and inscriptions can be read in the article "Where to download fonts and how to install them? Beautiful fonts for the manufacture of wood words".
In the first place, by a conventional electric jigsaw, I saw off all the excess along the contour. You can also cut it out some internal elements, if they are not too small.
After this starting cut out central portion (all elements which can be cut it out in a single pass). So harvesting will be easier and it will be more convenient to rotate at the sawing edge portions.
Unlike the first phase where the workpiece can be rotated in both hands, to saw to the edge portions, it is convenient only be pressed with one hand near the sawing blank, and the other holding the workpiece edge, carry rotation.
Since the frame does not allow the rotation of a large workpiece 360 degrees, the internal elements that are on the edges have to cut out in two stages. I sawed until the workpiece comes into contact with a frame, then return sawing back and doing propyl to the hole.
Then billet unfold and make final propyl.
The lower part of the word can also cut out in two stages (each element separately) or starting from one edge, while the workpiece is not closer to the base.
And then unfolded it, saw the other side.
At the end of all the flaws should be thoroughly sanded (especially I / O space saws). Thus on the jig machine can be easily cut out labels (words) to 1 m. The large scale pieces, of course, easier to do with an electric jigsaw.
